Wow! SC has added a lodge in Fort Mill a few weeks ago and now one in Pendleton. In recent years, there have been Conway & Little river. Perhaps one more. All this made more possible by the change in the numbers needed (from 100 to 50) to request dispensation to form a lodge! I wonder who had the timerity to propose such a resolution?? Why Salisbury Elks 699!

PENDLETON - A new Pendleton Elks Lodge will be instituted this weekend. About 75 members will be part of the ceremony set to start at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Greenville Elks Lodge, said Jim Vogel, a spokesman for the Pendleton Lodge. Ceremonies on Saturday include institution of the new lodge, initiation of new members and installation of officers, Vogel said. The Greenville lodge is at 7700 Pelham Road.

EEOC Sues Illinois Elks Lodge For Sexual Harassment The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ("EEOC") is suing a southwestern Illinois Elks Lodge, alleging three board members sexually harassed three female bartenders. In its lawsuit (Case No. 3:09-cv-00200), filed in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis, Illinois, the EEOC claims that Vicki Vickers, Elizabeth Stemm, and Jackie Davidson (formerly Jackie Atteberry at the time of her employment by defendant) were subjected to unlawful sexual harassment while working at Elks Lodge No. 954 by three members of the Elks' board of trustees on numerous occasions in 2005 and 2006.

What she has instead is a historic title: She's the first woman to lead the Baraboo Elks Lodge.

Members of the Elks Club, located at the intersection of 10th Street and Knox Avenue, demanded an apology from the city and disciplinary action against at least one officer for police behavior during a July 19 incident. Now why would the leadership of any lodge sell their building without requesting permission from GL? And this is a lodge that is 115 years old? SMH If true, that's just a perfect illustration how far this organization has fallen. We do not seem to be attracting people with business and administration abilities or if we do then they are not willing to take on leadership responsibilities.

IDK if this is the best pr piece as it seems to imply that the lodge is fading away and becoming a bit desparate

In case you were wondering Sec 16.08 allows for a lodge to hold a social session where non-members may be admitted. Same thing as an open house if you ask me.

interesting to see how this fares for them. This lodge has over 300 members so losing control of their club room could be a bad .. or good thing.

Well good luck. But with an average age of 70, odds are slim they will make it. Tragic. Actually, most of California lodges average age is in the 70's. Only some are under 60.
