This is nice, in a slightly creepy, and yet delightfully geeky kind of way: a fellow named Ed Morita decided to tattoo a WordPress logo on his forearm. It's not just a plain, boring logo type of tattoo, there's all sorts of things happening here: skin is peeled off, wires and circuits are shown, and there's a nice big "W" as the centerpiece.

I love the Web and the fascinating number of useful and useless tools but it can also a huge time-suck and productivity killer. Like many digital animals, the Web constantly seduces you. Just when you've got e-mail and IM within your communications arsenal, you're using Twitter, Facebook and Friendfeed. Then, you've got Digg, del.icio.us, GMail, Google Reader, Mixx, et al to track and bookmark it all. At some point, it's overwhelming. It's impossible to be everywhere and anywhere, and embrace all the tools being used by the digerati. At some point, you just have to pick you digital weapons, and stick with them.

I've used Delicious for a long time to manage my Web bookmarks. It was easy to use, accessible from any browser, and worked well with Firefox. For all my needs, it was a great bookmarking service. Then I found Diigo, and suddenly Delicious didn't look so good anymore. Diigo is another social bookmarking service (and one we've covered before), offering all of Delicious' relevant features and much more. I left Delicious, and haven't ever looked back. There are a lot of things I love about Diigo, but there are seven features that sold me on using Diigo for all my bookmarking needs. These are all in addition to the features I deem non-negotiable for social bookmarking sites- tagging, Firefox extensions, looking at popular bookmarks, etc.

I have pretty substantial experience with search engines; and like you, use them everyday to find relevant content. I first heard about this new search engine called LeapFish a few months ago when I met Lena Shaw at the first Silicon Valley Tweetup. Leapfish is also sponsoring the upcoming Tweetup this Wednesday at the Hotel Valencia. What I dig about Leapfish is that you can pretty much find every piece of content related to any specific search query. You can search Google, Yahoo, MSN and it also aggregates the top news from the AP, Youtube videos, Twitter trending topics, weather, etc. on the home page. As usual, I did a search for "Michael Brito" and was delighted to see the common results I usually see when I Google myself; but also on the same page without any additional clicks I was able to see blog mentions, videos and images. It's definitely a time saver and it has a clean interface. What I would love to see and I am sure they are working on this as we speak is a the aggregation of twitter search, foursquare, Yelp and other social tools.
