Rough Guide Maps These guides are a series of fantastic interactive maps, produced in conjunction with the premier travel publisher Rough Guides. These PDA versions of The Rough Guide Maps allow you to quickly find all the top tourist spots and key attractions with ease. Information on the city and its sights are displayed with links to superb photographs and map locations. All in a intuitive easy to use interface. If you're travelling to any of the major cities in the world be sure you don't leave home without one of these guides on your PDA. Click on the left to select your chosen city. Further cities will be released over the coming months.

A revolutionary multi-player, multi-site game and arts space to be played across all five cities. Players use their own bodies to send balls of projected light across the playing space, aiming for goals representing the other cities. Entirely interactive, it's a competition to see which city has the least light balls in their square when the time runs out. Designed to be aesthetically beautiful and great fun to play and watch, games are a minute long and run throughout the night. Just turn up and play, or get your team together in advance...

Site-specific access codes can be found throughout the city (see map below) allowing you, the Meta Tourist, to experience the Great City by the Tigris. Upon finding an access code, call the Tourist Hotline (646-862-7769) for free audio guides to all the must-see locations.

Overview Blue Puddle is an interactive online mapping tool developed by an interdisciplinary team of students at the University of Michigan. The Blue Puddle software takes advantage of the Internet´s distributed authorship capabilities to create maps that draw on users´ collective memory and subjective experience of a city. These maps foster the emergence of stories about the city that are more rich than any single author could create.

The taxi is outfitted with an interactive touch screen that displays video, animations, music, and information triggered by an onboard GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver which allows the displayed artwork to change depending on where the taxi is in the city. With the combination of the media/gps technology, the mobile environment and the passenger/audience inside the cab – the eleven artists in teletaxi are offered a unique set of possibilities for showing their work - both technically and thematically.

LooseGrid is a laboratory for interdisciplinary research in the city exploring the relationships between the urban space, art and new technologies. It takes the form of a computer-based network built as a creative environment where residents of local districts and researchers can work together exploring the urban space through the generation of creative feedback.

ZoneTag can automatically tag your photos with the location, based on the cell tower, in which they were taken. The location of the cell tower is not known until our user community updates the city, state, or zip code of their photos on Flickr.

The MEMORY WALK walk makes visible the way people travel through the city by recording pedestrians’ steps across a space. Every time a footstep falls on a digital paver, the paver emits an additional increment of light. As people cross the pavement, paths of light are illuminated where people tread the most; untread areas emit no light. Thus, people become aware of the traces their movements leave upon the surfaces of the Digital Mile.
