Under motor vehicle act, Government amends it mandatory for manufacturers to fit AC's in the driver's cabin of all new trucks sold from 1 April 2017. In India truck drivers spend long hours in long-distance hauling even in adverse environmental condition like extreme cold or extreme heat, which is quite a tiresome job. But with AC being mandatory in all the trucks, drivers can now take a sigh of some relief along. As "Air-conditioning in trucks is not a comfort or a luxury feature but a feature that can prevent many serious road accidents, while making drivers cover more kilometers with less or no driver fatigue & more comfort & attention on road.

The India Tractor Market is all set to witness a double digit growth of 16-18% in FY 2017 says CRISIL. However the growth in February & March to only be in single digit number as farmers still cope with the note ban and shifting towards using digital payment modes. March 31 2017 the day when BS III compliant vehicles sales is supposed to be stopped all over the country, this will make 9 Lakh BS III compliant vehicles with a value of Rs. 12,000 Crs obsolete in one shot. However a section of industry is keeping its hopes high and believed that the government will move the deadline ahead to lower the loss. According to an order of the Supreme Court-mandated Environment Pollution Control Authority (EPCA), only BS4-compliant vehicles will be registered in the country from April this year.
