You can select data sets and this program creates a map on google earth. Could be used for economics, social studies, etc.

There are some good macro and microeconomics and social science simulations here that you can manipulate online now for free. Great population simulations.

This might be useful, not just for geography. You have to spin the cube to get to different topics.
