I don't know how well everyone having a computer will work, and how well students will take care of it.
  •
Connor makes a good point. I think we will have to establish a school culture that bringing your laptop to class is as important as having your cell phone with you. Also, here is another article about our Google day. http://goo.gl/9GvQi

In high school I'm not sure how important it is for students to have their own laptops. English and history and the 2 mandatory classes that computers work well in. Science and math don't always work well, electives can use them, but not all of them. We really don't know how well this will work until next year. College on the other hand for seniors this year will require laptops, and chromebooks I don't think will work well for college. IM just going to stick with my Mac, does everything this machine does and more.

Google Wants To Put Sat Dish Farm In Council Bluffs - 9 views

They invested millions into our city for the land and resources, not to mention the free programs they offer to our citizens. I don't see a problem with passing over the metro area for the beta testing of fiber optic broadband. Google gives us plenty of benefits they aren't obliged to.

Bus tour to oust gay marriage decision judge makes stop in Johnson County today - The D... - 3 views

I'm glad that an organization like the Iowa Bar Association is standing up for Justice Wiggins and trying to inform people what a retention vote really should be about. It makes me wonder if the US Supreme Court would have made any of their unpopular decisions if they were to be put up for a retention election. I also commend Justice Wiggins and the other three Justices who where voted out last time for choosing not to campaign and keeping politics out of the judicial system as much as they can. I plan on voting to retain Justice Wiggins because I don't believe that he has done anything to lose his position as a Supreme Court Justice.

We are blowing this out of proportion. By this example. We should have done this with H1N1, Bird flu, etc.
  •
    Agreed
  •
    Nope we're screwed. Done.

They should have never even brought the stupid Ebola to the Omaha Metro. Try and contain it where it originated, and work up from there.

St. Peterburg bombing: Metro blast a 'suicide' attack - CNN - 17 views

I think this is horrible and the Russian had something definitely wrong with his head to set off 2 bombs in 2 different places. My question is why? what was his motive?

This is very sad. People need to stop thinking that hurting each other is the answer to solving your problems.
  •
Why do people do this kind of stuff?
  •
I'm curious if this is linked to a specific terrorist group or not. They say the culprit has ties to Kyrgstan, but no terrorist groups have come forward to claim responsibility yet.

i think that it is very cool that women are finally driving moscows trains
  •
I think that the "hard-working conditions" was just an excuse to not let women work, but I am glad that they are now able to drive trains in Moscow.
