my opinion, i would have went off of what the tattoo said because i would have seen it as his wishes. he was pretty much gone when he arrived, plus there was no family with him. there was no one/nothing saying otherwise so i would have just let him go.

I would be lost but I think I would still resuscitate him because tattoos can sometimes be a regret and they had no way of knowing if it was legit or not.

I think it was a good call to wait until they had actual (documented) proof that he did not want to be resuscitated instead of just going off of the words on his body.

Personally, I find it very wise that the doctors would have guessed that he had been resuscitated in the past. Especially due to his old age and multiple problems. It was also wise of them to follow this mans wishes and let him go.

I think they did the right thing by not resuscitating him because tattoo's can sometimes be jokes but, no one would joke about this sort of thing. In addition to that he was nearly dead when he got there so it may have been easier for him.

I think it was a good choice to wait for documentation of him not wanting to be resuscitated.

I think that they're doing an amazing job at peacefully trying to get justice for George Floyd, they mentioned a group called Mother's Love who were standing outside of the trial I think and were handing out flyers and offering emotional support.

I'm glad that the trial is finally underway. I just wonder how they found unbiased members to make up a jury? You'd have to be living under a rock to have not heard about this case and formed some kind of opinion. While I do believe the officer is in the wrong, he still deserves the right to a fair trial, and I'm wondering how fair this trial will be since it's such a public matter and so personal to so many.

I believe that George Floyd had an extremely unreasonable death and he didn't get his deserved rights. I also believe that a remembrance should be in order to remind us that we have protection against things like this.

The continuous protest throughout the trial is something that is going to keep the light on this important issue. The trial is going to stay focused on and true justice will be served for George Floyd.

It is good that he was convicted of all the crimes charged against him. I couldn't imagine the outcome being different.

It's good that he was found guilty, he 100% was guilty. George Floyd didn't have the greatest past but that was no reason enough for him to be murdered.

I think that it is very important especially in today's society to have women in powerful political roles. I think that it will empower and influence other women to do what they aspire to be.

Donald Trump didn't take the virus seriously, got sick, and is now back to healthy. This isn't a wakeup call because he recovered fast and never appeared to be in bad shape.

He never appeared to be in bad shape which led many to believe it was a hoax or that hospitals are hiding something. He did not take it seriously and Americans will not take it seriously either if he doesn't step up first.

I think that if he took it seriously at the start, the number of cases in America would be completely different. Instead of worrying about trying to prevent a "panic", he should've focused more on the health of the citizens.

With the way this is set up, i think its a well though out article. at first, i thought more people, more power, but its really to let the little guy have a voice, which i think is the biggest problem with the government today. A lack of connection.. Anybody agree with that?

George Washington warned us in his farewell address to avoid political parties. Now look at where they have gotten us. A House and Senate gridlocked in a partisan conflict in which none of the average people they are supposed to represent are even acknowledged.

I agree with the general idea of this. I think a Congress of 3,000 people is extreme, but I definitely agree that Congress should be expanded. We have a populations of over 300 million and only 435 people in the House, and that proportion is pretty ridiculous. There is definitely a lack of connection between representatives, because it is impossible to connect with nearly a million people.

The problem with this is that at this point it may be too late to get a smooth, efficient transition to any other form than the one we have, and the few ways there are to acheive this goal either involve massive chaos, which most find undesireable, or change so slow that we will never be satisfied with the transition's results, whether they achieve our preferred outcomes. Also, the shift could cause exploitation of congress that would be even worse for the people than our current predicament. So really, we are almost as well off just starting from the roots and reconstructing in the new way, despite the many downsides.... At least as far as I can tell. I can't say I have given the topic much thought.

I agree with the article and these comments because the House is supposed to represent "normal" Americans and and they wouldn't be able to do that with so few representatives.

Alex I have to disagree that the few ways to do this would cause chaos or move slowly. With the current setup we redraw districts and move them from one state to another based on population data received from the census every ten years. So lets say that today we decide to double the number of representatives to 870 starting in 2020 (the next census year). That would mean we would have 8 years to figure out the math, which can't be all that difficult in my opinion if they are able to do it every ten years when they redistrict, to find out how many congressional districts each state gets. Then when the new state district maps are drawn in 2020 after the census instead of drawing 435 districts we would draw 870. This way could work because we already move districts from state to state with population changes so states have experienced additional congressional districts being added to their district maps. I hope this made sense, it did in my head.

I agree that people who plan to kidnap someone, especially a government official should be thrown in jail. It's common sense.

I don't think anyone should threaten or joke about kidnapping or harming anyone in general. It's just not right, and they should be in jail because of it.

Pretty sure 47% of the Latino population is on government aid, so, he's just doing what he can to try and have any chance of winning the up coming election. After his comments, I am pretty sure he is going to struggle to gain anymore aide.

In all seriousness to the issue, the title refers to a Newsweek Headline of Obama being the "First Gay President" because he has thrown his support behind the same sex marriage movement. We will see how far his leadership on this issue goes. I think that the adoptive parents should be able to keep the child because I agree with the adoptive father they should not be able to use the tribe law when the child was given up for adoption even after the child was born so she was never taken away from the tribe.

I think that her Biological father should actually get a chance to raise his daughter but It's interesting since in today's day and age there are some parents that give away there babies but then they realize they shouldn't have since they would have been able to take care of themselves and the baby, In some cases when the children are returned to there biological parents instead of there adopted parents it can actually be healthier and better for them.

Tanning causes skin cancer. This will benefit health and prevent girls from looking like basketballs

if people want to increase the chance of getting skin cancer then they should be allowed to tan because its a choice just like anything else

I think that its more of a personal choice and if parent let their kids do it so be it. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Not sure of my opinion on this topic yet, but I thought this was an ironic statement... "Doctors, however, said it's not about the money. It's about health." It seems more and more, those two issues are tangled up in our health care debates.

Brushing your teeth = Weakens you enamel. Should we ban teens from brushing their teeth simply because it can harm them? It's (in my opinion) a matter of choice.

We've got a bunch of teenage girls, whose reasoning capabilities aren't fully developed and who quite literally aren't as capable of comprehending long term effects as adults are who have been convinced that it isn't okay to look like themselves. Our society has been convinced to believe that normal, or natural, can't be attractive. Society convinces women that to be attractive they have to be tan and then offers them an easy way to become tan. A way which, incidentally, causes cancer. But teenagers don't comprehend the risks well, and are only concerned with trying to make themselves attractive. And let's just admit it, orange is not cute.

Also, I don't know about the rest of you, but I think cancer might be a little worse than possibly having weaker enamel.

@Peyton you cant even compare this to brushing your teeth. Brushing your teeth gives you way more benefits over a "weak enamel" I'd rather have a weak enamel rather than have brown teeth with holes in them, and i'd rather be white and cancer free than look like an old leathery football.

You should have gone with pale is not cute in the first place, and that would just be weird if everyone tanned. Everyone would look the same in a way.

i think if your tanning the its at your own risk. its not like people haven't heard what could happen if they tan

tanning beds are an unnatural way to tan and people should just wait till summer to tan again but either way tanning in the summer outside or in a bed is still dangerous and will lead to someone getting skin cancer.

Going back to Jessica's comment: I'm a pale teenage girl, but I'm perfectly content with my skin color. Other girls, however, aren't and it's comments like that that force young girls to tan and be at a higher risk of getting skin cancer. I'm not attacking you, Jessica, I'm simply giving my opinion.

i am all for freedom but when it comes to gun control people in general should know that if their children or themselves know they have a mental health disorder that they shouldn't have guns in their house or in cases they have children with mental disorders keep them in a gun cabinet and hold on to the key

Gun cabinets are just as easy for kids to break into even if the kids do not have the key. I don't think you should not include people with disabilities from being able to have firearms in their homes, it may not be the safest thing but it is still a right that they have. Most people who have firearms in their homes have them to protect themselves and their families, not to harm other people. I think we need stricter gun laws for everyone, not just certain people.

I think that the government should force people to own a gun safe big enough for all of the guns they own. We can't just take away guns! One way or another people are going to go out of their way to kill people.

This is just wrong. The students are being segregated because of their race and color. Shouldn't racism be illegal? especially in schools!

I think having separate dances based on color is just wrong. If they can attend the same school, games and classes, then they should also be allowed to attend the dances with their friends, no matter their color.

I can't believe to this day that there are people separating blacks from whites in some kind of activity. They share the same class rooms and everything else. Why can't they attend the same prom together? It amazes me how people think that they need to separate prom by the color of their skin.

I can't believe there is a school that integrated but yet they separate dances for the students? I think what the girls are trying to do is a good idea cause there isn't a good enough reason for the school to have separate dances.

Oh gosh, I'm pretty sure it feels like a slap in the face to the people who can't go to the "white" prom because they are black. I didn't even know they still did that. I think that this story is a great reminder that our behavior has consequences. He has already been fired from an executive position in his company and has been publicly ridiculed. This in in addition to any sort of legal punishment that he might be facing. His decision to have maybe just one more drink before he boarded the plane was a bad decision with far reaching consequences!

If what he is being accused for actually happened he deserves time in prison because for one racism is a terrible thing people don't get to choose what raise they are going to be they are born into it. For two no one in their right mind should every hit a child.

This man is disgusting. He married his wife for 'love'? If he really did love her, he would have been able to get past the way their daughter looked. Why this was a case is beyond me..

I don't think you should be able to sue someone for having an ugly baby. It's not anyone's "fault", and if it were, the blame could not be placed SOLELY on the mother. I don't think this guy has a legitimate reason to sue his wife, and obviously he is a little disturbed. I don't think the courts should even allow this to be a case.

I agree also, religion should stay out of politics, the only reason people think being homosexual is wrong is because it says so in the bible. Gay couples who get married aren't hurting anyone or anything, I really think that this even being an issue is absurd.

I agree that one person can not represent an entire religion. One can represent their own easy because it is their personal belief on said subject. I give him props for being a willing person to speaking his views on gay marriage. The bible does not exactly say that it is not okay to be homosexual. It says its not okay to lay with someone of the same sex if I remember right. So I feel the physical part is viewed as not ok, wile the mental area should be taken in mind as well.

Every time someone "interprets" the bible it's like they are trying to "play God". They all try to say this is what God thinks and this is what He believes is wrong. I mean we should all be able to interpret it our own way and not try to make others believe in our interpretation, especially if it portrays God as "against" his own creations.

It's good that they were suspended, the confederate flag is banned for a reason. The confederate flag represents racism, and it's very sad that there are still people displaying it, especially young people like high schoolers because they're the ones who are going to make an impact on and represent our generation.

I believe that they should have been forced to change clothes. The confederates were fighting for the right to keep their slaves. While there may have been an array of reasons, such as the economy, that the confederates wanted to keep their slaves, it is morally wrong to keep people as such. While pride can be good, origins can be bad. I don't think having an origin that completely missed the enlightenment of the rest of the world is necessarily something to be proud of. Have southern pride, but find a symbol that doesn't stand for racism.

I believe this is justified completely. The confederate flag is a symbol of racism and for a group of students to collectively wear clothing that represents that is sickening. Not only that but they violated the school dress code and then refused to comply should be suspended. These "beliefs" they have by wearing the confederate flag promote racism, the whole thing gives off a KKK feel.

I believe like Brook has said the confederate flag is definitely a symbol of racism and is very offensive to many people. They should have been suspended because they were not following the code of conduct and refused to remove the shirts, let alone the meaning behind the confederate flag.
