#2 ndvorak on 26 Feb 21What are your guy's thoughts about this? Does the spike in carjackings truly have anything to do with violent video games such as GTA?

#3 alyne47 on 01 Mar 21Wouldn't it just be better to have a Parent or Guardian present when a minor wants to buy R-rated games such as GTA instead of just banning them altogether? Cause there are always means to still get and play the game, whether through player someone else copy for just getting an illegal copy of the game.

#5 eballenger on 01 Mar 21I can see why they would think this but I don't think it's going to change anything and I don't personally think it affects things.

#7 ericschmidtberge on 15 Mar 21I disagree that video games make people violent. A perfectly mentally stable person is not gonna play one round of GTA and go steal a car or go on a killing spree. I do think people of a younger age should have limited access to violent video games. My perspective of this is that GTA 5 was released over 8 years ago and that was just the most recent game to come out. The original GTA came out in 1997. I know that it's not limited to GTA and GTA has released newer content but still, this game has been out for many years, and instead of wasting time and money to try and ban videos games they could use those resources to try and prevent crimes such as making public resources available to troubled kid´s such as academic and job opportunities. Maybe even making a youth center that kids can come to and hang out so they have something to do besides steal cars. I know that won´t stop youthful people from committing these crimes completely but I feel it would have a substantial impact instead of banning violent video games which will just be accessible through illegal online downloads certainly creating more opportunity for youth to comment crimes by illegally obtaining these games.

#8 lhunter952 on 22 Mar 21I see the viewpoint but I do not agree that video games make kids violent. If someone says a video game made them violent then there is obviously something else wrong with them if they see the fictional game on the screen and think it can be treated the same as real life.
