about illoz

illoz is a portfolio site for Illustrators that doubles as a very useful workspace for art directors. It's an experiment, of sorts. The idea is to establish a new and better way for art directors to find and interact with Illustrators. The program was created by two guys with an idea, the same two odd-balls that brought Drawger to life. More about illoz and why it's here.

illoz is an invitation only portfolio site for Illustrators. It's not for everyone and not everyone who wants a portfolio site here will be able to get one. Numbers are limited to keep the quality high. The cost is 150 American dollars per year and it's free to test drive for 60 days. Joseph Christian Leyendecker (March 23, 1874 - July 25, 1951) was a 20th century American illustrator. He is most well known for his men's fashion advertisements, particularly the Arrow Collar Man, and as Norman Rockwell's predecessor as the premier illustrator of covers for the Saturday Evening Post.

Linn Olofsdotter, from Sweden, has explored many mediums before solidifying her career in the illustration field. After getting her education in both advertising and graphic design in Europe and the US, she moved to Brazil to start up a motion graphics studio along with her husband and creative partner. More recently Linn worked as a senior art director at a Boston advertising agency. During the beginning of her career she used her skills as an illustrator to help brand TV networks such as Fine Living, MTV and Anime Network amongst others. Nowadays Linn works independently creating artwork for a number of clients in the Fashion, Advertising and Editorial fields such as Oilily, La Perla and Bon Magazine.

YUKO SHIMIZU is an illustrator and a fine artist. She is also an illustration instructor at School of Visual Arts, New York. Drawing had been Yuko's hobby ever since she was a child. However, growing up in a traditional Japanese family, pursuing a path in art was just not an option. After receiving BA in advertising and marketing - the most creative of the practical field - from Waseda University she landed on a position in PR for a big corporation in Tokyo. It never made her quite happy, and she was in a mid-life crisis at age of 22.

An illustrator who is getting more and more popular so i can't help running into him on flickr, imagekind, colourlover etc. Palmowski has such an unique way of blending his wonderful palettes in his charactors who seem looking for each other from piece to piece, from universe to the big blue ocean.

Killer JeansTo be honest, Taxi Design Network is quite a place to see something you would never dream of seeing. Take the work you see, Killer Jeans, of this Indian illustrator/designer/artist Sameer Kulavoor for example, strength, composition, skill, and execution are all there in a single piece. In his résumé, he said "without any particular background in graphic design, his liking for art led him to exploring different mediums," and from my point of view, the variety of his works is a solid proof that you would bookmark his website and be a faithful admirer. At 22yrs of age, he has worked internationally in areas like illustration and design for editorial and advertising; motion graphics and animation for web, television and cinema. He has created two Music videos, a few shorts and hundreds of illustrative designs for a vast and varied portfolio of clients, from MNCs to Music Bands.
