It will heal before you're married is a reassuring way to remind a physically or emotionally injured child that everything will be okay with time. Here you see a mother comforting a child after he falls off his bike, which is probably the perfect time for a person to use this phrase, "It will heal before you're married."
Hi my name is Sam McCoy. I am a senior at Penn State. Growing up, I played several sports and was quite clumsy. Whenever I would fall and scrape my knees my coach would say "It will heal before you're married." My mom says it every time one of us is sad about something or whenever we have bumps or bruises. I have always taken it to mean that life is long and this is just a small problem that will pass. An example would be if you scraped your knee or broke up with a significant other and your mother or father would say "It will heal before you're married," to remind you that it isn't the end of the world. Apparently this is often said in Russia as well, if you would like more insight into the phrase there is a forum at the following address discussing it: http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=2163381
1. Your web quest definitely conveys a theme of time. It's obvious you're addressing the past and the overall look is really interesting and striking. I love that you included key terms in your energetic introduction. Everything seems very age appropriate.
2. Your project seems to be pointing towards some elements of art history, which is such a great thing to start teaching students and it also facilitates critical thinking in terms of the times you are working with.
3. It looks like you may still be working on your rubric (we are too). I posted a link that has been very helpful for us in my post in Dani and Jenna's critique.
4. Yes, you included a detailed plan for their daily activities and what you expected from them throughout every step.
5. You included plenty of helpful resources which will facilitate discussion among the students and hopefully generate big questions that will aid in their learning.
Looks great! I'm excited to see the finished product!
