Yes, I guess I hadn't thought about it before but it does help that Christine and I give lots of laughs in our double act! You must see our impression of me (being me) talking to Gareth Malone (acted by CWP). This is one element that helps us to bond with our learners.

This is something Bunny, Christine and Eliz have discovered in their journeys to community cohesion, cameradership and collaboration amongs their learners. As Delightful Dawn (Psycho-therapis) said, it creates a habit of ritual and therefore glues those bonds tighter ;-)

I had a conversation with an adult learner yesterday who was having a 'wobble' about staying on a course and she said that one of the other learners would not leave her alone on facebook until she said she was coming back to class. Their interaction with a social network had the consequence of her staying in learning.

Part of the national skills academy - focus on cultural and creative industries - very useful for some of the skills and actvities which you could connect your learners to - specially the creative apprenticeship - check recent bookmarks close to this one.

The make lounge is a concept that can be copied for the skills you impart.
