Another old text that I refer to often! It draws me back to basic learning principles when I'm tempted to get distracted by new technologies. Sometimes it's difficult to remember that technology doesn't teach. It provides great tools to help learners, but technology can only reinforce tried and true learning principles. Here's a brief summary: How do you tailor education to the learning needs of adults? Do they learn differently from children? How does their life experience inform their learning processes? These were the questions at the heart of Malcolm Knowles pioneering theory of andragogy which transformed education theory in the 1970s. I know what you mean Michelle! There are countless topics that Instructional Designers need to address with faculty. QM and ADA compliance are critical for online instruction but there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in a day!
