NEW DELHI: Two Indian girls aged two-and-a-half and five years old were raped in separate incidents in New Delhi overnight, with at least one confirmed as a gang rape, police said Saturday. The younger child was abducted late Friday by two men from a religious event in west Delhi's Nangloi area and sexually assaulted before being dumped in a park near her home, police and relatives said.

Jaipur police registered a case on the basis of a complaint filed by a 24-year-old woman alleging her husband of rape and forced conversion. The woman alleged her husband forced her to sleep with his friends and threatened her too. He allegedly forcefully converted her to Islam in January 2017.

Self-styled godman Asaram, who was convicted for raping a minor girl, has sent a mercy plea to the governor of Rajasthan seeking dilution of his life sentence. On April 25, a Jodhpur court had sentenced Asaram to life in prison after finding him guilty of raping a minor girl in his ashram 5yrs ago.

In the latest development, in the alleged rape of a nun by the bishop, the case has been posted to September 24 for hearing, ANI reports. On Wednesday, the Kerala police sent summons to accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal to appear before on September 19. Earlier, police told nun was raped repeatedly.

దేశ రాజధాని న్యూఢిల్లీలో 2012న జరిగిన నిర్భయ గ్యాంగ్ రేప్ కేసులోని నింధితులకు ఉరిశిక్ష విధిస్తున్నట్లు సుప్రీం కోర్టు తీర్పు తెలిపింది. అయితే మరణశిక్ష కాకుండా యావజ్జీవ కారాగార శిక్ష విధించాలని దాఖలైన పిటిషన్‌ను సుప్రీం కొట్టివేసింది. ఉరిశిక్షే దోషులకు సరైనదంటూ సుప్రీం కొట్టి వేసింది.
