This article is about health literacy and many of its aspects. This article defines what health literacy is. It states what skills are needed for health literacy. It shares the effect economic statuses have on low health literacy. It shares some statistics about the connection between people with low health literacy and poor health. This article also gives names of some health literacy organizations and programs.

In her journal she attempts to define exactly what financial literacy is. She argues that many other scholars will not address this part of the subject, which she thinks is the main problem. She also goes on to state just what kinds of obstacles people face who do not have the knowledge, or are not well educated on Financial Literacy. She even makes a statement that it is her belief that the US has problems with welfare because of lack of finance knowledge, especially when it comes to spending. The information will serve great purpose for my introduction and conclusion as well as backup for my main paragraphs.

Johnson, Marlene. "NAFSA Opinion Article: Toward a New Foreign-Student Strategy". The Chronicle of Higher Education. July 28, 2006, Volume 52, Issue 47, Page B16. This opinion about the article states how the governments of some countries actually have strategies in place to attract a given amount of international students to their nations every year, most times to meet a certain goal. It states how they spend millions of dollars to make the nations more attractive to these students, and I'm guessing they do this because they know of the added benefit that having these students will have to their own nations.

This article is about the popularity of the University of Dayton among international students by attracting more and more students every year. the article also includes statistics about the number of International students in comparison with other universities within the state of Ohio. there are some Interviews with current UD students taking about their experiences while studying in the university, also how UD provided them with high quality of education and helping them adapt by having a strong community.

This article discusses the importance of internationalization of curriculum and and its role in preparing students for a global and multicultural society. With recent events it is even more pressing that Americans today have an understanding of peoples of different cultures. Motlow State Community College (MSCC) recognizes this topic of discussion and survey's show that in its courses only 6% of its courses contain significant international content. International education especially at the college level has taken on a new importance. This article argues that despite the student's major, they should be exposed to multicultural education and this knowledge which will enhance a student's success in the global environment of the future.

The article addresses the fact that schools are lacking art influences because of the No Child Left Behind Act. It states that this should be changed and proposes the "Critique Method." It emphasizes the benefits of right-brained thinking. The authors relate to Daniel Pink's idea of the Conceptual Age. They discuss how art fosters empathetic thinking that is crucial to the future generation.

This article focused on the integration of cultures and the importance of interconnections among all nations as we face global issues such as human rights, nuclear weapons and terrorism. It is important to educate students especially in the higher level in order to embrace the global perspective of different cultures to remain models of a democratic society. This article also discussed the idea of United States being a "melting-pot" of different backgrounds, ethnic groups and cultures".

These studies also show that tutor's transfer their teaching skills to their peers. This study was done with an education yet personal role throughout all tutors in the case study.

David Hanson is a professor in the Sociology Department at State University of New York and created this site in 1997. He has been making new articles as well as updating his already existing articles to be current. The URL given here was the most helpful part about this site, it give links to numerous hyperlinks offering much information on a various topics from pro alcohol advertising to the con argument.

Koretz, Daniel, "How Do American Students Measure Up? Making Sense of International Comparisons." Future of Children; Spring2009, Vol. 19 Issue 1, p37-51, 15p, 1 Graph This article looks at the U.S education system and international student education in a different light, unlike most of the other articles; it looks at how the U.S Education system, in reality is secondary to that of many foreign country's. His point of comparison is the students emerging from these educational systems. He states how the perception of poor academia amongst U.S children actally holds, since on average U.S kids perform less, and have more studying disabilities than do children from other foreign countries. I personally believe there is a lot of truth in this article based on the facts and realities i myself experience. No offense intended, just academic debate.

Though peer tutors have their own learning method, they take what the tutee is good at and combine it with their own way of learning. Thus having more of an effective learning style than in the classroom. This article also states that peer tutoring at all ages is effective and can only benefit the students. Tutors can help determine new learning methods for the tutees.

William Badke. "International students: information literacy or academic literacy?" Academic Exchange Quarterly, Dec 22, 2002. Web. This article looks at how international students may not actually be getting the education they may have thought they are bargaining for. He says yes, they receive an English education which may have been tougher to come by in their country, thereby becoming more literate, while in effect they do not actually gain any valuable academic literacy, comparable to what may have been available in their country of origin. He states that in effect these students are caught between an educational gap in which they face more language challenges than they do actual academic challenges, and as such spend most of their education just trying to get over the language barrier hump, while sacrificing academia knowledge they would have otherwise been gaining.

Johnson makes clear that in the United States there needs to me more emphasis on teaching Braille to young students. It shows the concerns that parents, teachers, and students have about visually impaired children are no longer learning to read and write Braille. Due to the advances in technology Braille has become obsolete. This article gives the different perspectives of both teachers and parents when it comes to their children learning Braille. Finally Johnson says that he believes that there should be more of an integration of visually impaired children into regular classrooms. He also knows that this will not be easy. Although the students will benefit from being in an integrated class room, they need daily contact with a teacher who specializes in working with visually impaired student.

This article discusses how curriculum's that contain multicultural education prepare students for roles as productive citizens and gives them a broad worldview which is important for academic success. This article focuses on the United States and the need to incorporate global education within a student's education. With domestic diversity within America and the constant flow of immigrants, gaining more insight about other cultures and ways of life is beneficial and essential when interacting with people from different backgrounds. Unfamiliar groups, cultures and languages can produce anxiety and hostility from those who don't understand or are ignorant to other cultures. This article offers several suggestions for teacher to go about incorporating global education into many different subjects.

They go through three questions the want to answer -Do gender differences in mathematics performance exist in the general population? Do gender differences exist among the mathematically talented? Do females exist who possess profound mathematical talent? The article talks about how some countries have closed the gap such as England but the USA has not. They go to answer all of the questions through the research they do and have charts/graphs.

It goes into detail about the risks involved for teachers, as well as students who are currently using MySpace or Facebook. Although it clearly states the dangers of these sites, this articles delves into the positive ways college students and teachers are using them such as organizing charity functions, organizing new clubs, or even forming political protests. This article reflects on both the good and bad sides of social networking and students.
