On IMS Global Learning Consortium site. "Common Cartridge is the first of three major standards that comprise a new generation of Digital Learning Services standards to support a new generation of learning technology. Classroom Salon, developed at Carnegie Mellon, is a tool that encourages active learning, with readers able to annotate and tag directly into the text, highlighting passages of interest. Initially developed to help students improve their writing, it is also being used in other learning and training projects.
