iPad Pro: An Educator's First Impressions | teachingwithipad.org - 0 views

  •
"My iPad Pro arrived this past week to my excitement. I have used it for just a few days now at this point. There are absolutely no regrets about this large purchase (I joked that it did cost exactly half of what I paid for my first car!). I am thoroughly impressed by this device. The larger size of this iPad gives it a new device feeling, as opposed to just a refreshed model of the same dimensions. For a size reference, here is the iPad Pro side by side with the iPad 4: And here it is next to the iPad Mini:   I hope to do a series of posts outlining my use of the iPad Pro. This first post will just outline some initial thoughts on the device, and who I think it is best suited for. Readers of this blog will know that I'm a huge supporter of using iPads for content creation as opposed to just content consumption. The iPad Pro, along with the new features of iOS 9, bring with it many more possibilities of doing so."

App #6: Camera « Teaching with iPad - 2 views

"Have an iPad 2, iPhone, or iPod touch? Take advantage of the dual cameras that come with the device. Some of you might even own the new iPad, which boasts the much improved camera much like that of the iPhone 4S. Simply having a camera on these devices adds so much convenience to your photography tasks. No more need to fiddle with SD or Compact Flash cards, wires, usb connection kits."

"Numbers ($9.99), a spreadsheet app directly from Apple, is a worthy Microsoft Excel-like competitor for the iPad. It is a powerful tool for teachers who own an iPad, and can be used for assessment, especially during report card season. "

"I am sure you've heard your friends talk about Pinterest. It has become extremely popular in the past year. My wife was the one who originally told me about it back in 2010. It has definitely hit the Internet by storm."

App #14: SloPro for iPhone and iPad « Teaching with iPad - 7 views

"SloPro (app link) is a fun iPhone and iPad video-making app that allows you to slow down your videos without losing any image quality. When you shoot a video within this app, it will shoot it in 60fps (frames per second), as opposed to the usual 30fps.* This will allow the resulting video to be smooth and not pixelated, like when you slow down video in various movie making software."

"Diptic (iTunes link) is a fun and useful photography app that I have been using for a few months now. It is a tool used for combining multiple images onto one image. "
