diigo changes the speed of my recording - 16 views

I was also set to get with publishing my first webslides presentation. When I uploaded the recording I made of my voice, I was stunned to find that the preview sound altered the speed of the recording. I have a deep voice, but after uploading it I sounded like an elf!

I'm not a sound engineer, so there may be something in the way I recorded the file. But all I did was record the mp3, and played it back on my computer. It sounded fine then.

Is there something I need to know about to keep the sound speed from being altered or is this something on diigo's end?

I should also point out that even though the sound file has been uploaded to my webslides presentation, it doesn't play when I initiate the presentation itself. All I get are the slides - no sound.

    Am I missing something?

    Hi Joel,

Well, I tried doing another webslides presentation and was met with the same problems. To be clear this one is an entirely different set of sites called "Drummin Up Some Link Love #19". I'm not an audio expert, but from what I can tell from the software I'm using to record, it's doing so at 96 Kbps. But knowing our above thread, I converted it to 44 K using another tool. After uploading it, it still played at a fast rate.

Additionally, it's still a struggle getting it to save the name of the presentation. I've changed it via both methods of accessing the settings, but it still shows as coming from "diigo" on the first slide before playing.

The latter I know is something only you guys can fix, but for the audio speed-up, is that something on your end as well? If not, can you please point me to a tool that would do what you're suggesting? I used Free Hi-Q Recorder to record and then used Any Audio Converter to change the speed before uploading. The speed always sounded right on my computer before and after the change, just not after uploading it onto diigo.

    Hello again, Joel,

Would you have an update on this?

It may be that I'm missing something, but your links I'm sure will come in handy. Thanks!

Well, looks like I may have to wait until some things are worked out. The sound file is fine, but when I go to collapse the bottom nav bar the sound stops. It didn't do that before. The reason I was doing that was because that was the only way I could have the author line edited. Currently it says "By Diigo" even though when I go to edit it it says "Mark of MeAndMyDrum.com".

In the meantime, I'll still review the links you provided. I'll leave these webslides in my account in case you need to refer to them, but I will be deleting them eventually as the timeliness is now overdue.

Diigo warning me of redirection - 93 views

bug

I never could figure out why I've been getting a pop-up in Firefox telling me that I'm being redirected to another, for....every....single....page I go to. I tried disabling my spyware monitor, my firewall, even my web filter, but nothing kept the message from coming up. It didn't do that while I was browsing in IE.

But then I tried disabling all my add-ons in FF and it wasn't until I re-enabled the diigo toolbar that the error started up again. Specifically it says:

"This web page is being redirected to a new location. Would you like to resend the form data you have typed in to the new location?"

So anybody know why this is happening and what it has to do with diigo?

In my case, it remembers my login. But now that I still have it disabled, every once in a while it prompts with the same message. So that means it's something else or just having it disabled may not be enough.

I'm going to uninstall it and see what happens.

Okay, so now the plot thickens. :)

I uninstalled diigo and reinstalled it. I still get the message though, but now its if I Stumble something or the first time I open my browser. So maybe I'm going to try removing StumbleUpon and see what happens.

    Hi Maggie,

I apologize for the delay. Update: I've been diigo-free for a couple of days now. I also uninstalled StumbleUpon. I never experienced the redirect message at all during this time.

I installed the very latest diigo toolbar just now and I immediately started getting the redirect message after I restarted Firefox. If it's conflicting with an extension, I can't tell which without having to do some extensive on/off tests. I'd rather avoid that if I can, but will make an attempt to do so if all options have been exhausted.

The troubling thing is that the message window gives no clue as to what program is telling me this. It's just a generic window.

Thanks for your help. I hope a solution can be found.

Oh, not sure about how to send you my profile. Please advise. Thanks!

Note: we notice a small problem with the new profile - when updating, your session ID got changed and could cause some login problem - we should have fixed that. Wonder if that could be part of the problem you're having?...
