i use ie a key reason i decided to try diigo was the notes feature - but what i found was 1 ] i am unable to edit my own notes - so to put notes on my own site pages i would have to add ever more notes 2 ] the note 'persistence' is far too long - can't get them to go away when blocking other material, far too slow 3 ] some public pages have junk/trash notes on them - so it's just a nuisance [like google page with note such as 'this is neat' - that's just a nuisance
ah so - lousy 'search' [zero results when i know there are items] is due to system being behind ? not. / unless it's behind by a long, long time / every time i've tried search it does not work - does not give me results that i know are tagged /
so Sandy - why have you not addresses any of my issues at all ?? why ignoring them ?
oh thank you so much for identifying this @$^@$ nuisance - so it's Diigo - this is VERY frustating / and it occurs far, far too much / well i've had zero responses on my own partial list of problems with diigo / so i guess i'll have to start yet another search for some tagging program that actually works the way one should work
been using diigo for a long time - with many frustrations / so going to begin listing those, with bleak hope for some possible fixes or even just sympathy / many of my frustrations seem to be such obvious problems and weaknesses
another frustration - when i stop a research project in the middle i leave the one-click tag in place - not replacing it with my standard tag ('tosort')
then when i begin next session, next day, etc i do not know what is in one-click tag unless i look to test etc
what diigo SHOULD HAVE - tool tip for one-click save SHOULD SHOW current one-click tag
1 >>> i did a search on a particlar word/string in my bookmarks 137 hits
[just did it again, and now 142 hits, up from yesterday]
2 >>> selected all of those did a Revise Tags...
in practicality i had to choose 'Add' instead of 'Replace' tag [many are 'tosort' - which need to be replaced / but many others are also tagged correctly already]
3 >>> so having 137 items with my new tag (i'll use 'dtw' abbrev here now) i now (as i did yesterday initially) go to My Library i see My Items 4406 My Tags 274 Top Tags - dtw 141
4 >>> i select dtw tag and see My Items 98 --- 98 ???????? look at bottom - 1-98 of 98
uh gee, shouldn't there be 141 ? conclusion - diigo is ____________
so all my work is not very useful
5 >>> go to one of the items and select dtw from there instead from the sidelist same 98 - crap
6 >>> now want to delete the 'tosort' tags from those which are now dtw tagged see in Related Tags : 'tosort' 37 hit that get My Items 37
7 >>> no way to select these items for editing the tags except one by one SHOULD BE way to select and drop/replace a tag
8 >> tried Snapshot on the first of the 37 items that seems useless since it takes way too long to open/see
9 >>> tried Preview on the first of the 37 items that's a video, began to play when i hit Close tab it would not stop playing (audio still going) so it's taking resources that should be stopped
10 >>> now - magic suddenly there are now checkboxes beside the 37 items so that i can select them
what crap is this ? it's a different display, not date sorted now
and i see no way to change the view from this to what was or to 'choose' this view
11 >>> option to Revise Tags is "ALL TAGS" that's just plain stupid who would ever use that ?
it SHOULD ALLOW selecting of tags to delete
12 >>> i had hoped to be able to sort through my tagged items and be able to refine the tagging it seems totally a waste to try to do that
a key reason i decided to try diigo was the notes feature - but what i found was

overall not what i had hoped
not worth using
