I like this idea very much. There are quite a few examples where the Diigo interface could tweak its view depending on the user and the context of what it is they are looking at. This applies to all views where you are looking at someone else's bookmarks, i.e. an account holder's bookmark page, bookmark list from a Search query, Tag communities, Site communities, etc.

At the moment, the Save dialogue is a group member's primary route to
* saving (adding) to a list * saving (sharing) with another group.
(for Diigo Groups: the Edit Bookmark dialogue lacks these functions) so whilst I agree that it's not logical to offer to save something that is already saved, we do still need a streamlined way for groups to share and to add to lists.
Elsewhere, some time ago in this forum, there's a topic that acknowledges the need to extend/refine menus such as 'More Actions…' in the Diigo Groups UI.
Beyond Diigo Groups: the Edit Bookmark dialogue is remarkably different:
If the Edit Bookmark dialogue for Groups is harmonised with other Edit Bookmark dialogues
then we might expect sharing and listing options to appear within the dialogue
and in our thoughts on design, we should not forget the image offered by Nate: in which there is suggested the option of simultaneous saving/sharing to multiple groups and more.

That way you don't redundantly try and save the same bookmark over and over again, something that I have found myself doing, much to my irritation.
Or add some text to the bookmark reference to alert the user that it has already been saved. Or better yet, do both.
Israel, I acknowledge the problem and I think it needs a solution.
AFAIR the options relating to sharing are envisaged or at least suggested as a menu, not as a button:
- and the UI for groups should be harmonious with the UI for self.

I'm sorry that I can't find that topic. If anyone finds it before I do, please cross-reference. Thanks.

Agreed.

In the groups view, actions may have meanings that are more plural (i.e. applying to many within the group) so the approaches and wording deserve great care.

Nice addition. Thank you.
