I don't quit get it: Why are the private groups listed in the repository but not on the profile page of the owner? Also why is the creator/owner's name visible in the repository and not the profile?
Also: I noticed on most profiles I tried to send a messages, I get: "Sorry, you are not allowed to send message to this user." Where can you set that options ?

A group with content that is private can be listed publicly.
If you seek and find a group, you'll find the name of the owner.
(I can see all groups that I administer, but I don't expect other people to seek that information. Other people's initial focus is the group.)
