  Using Diigolet 3.1b506 in Safari 4 Public Beta (5528.16) on Mac OS X 10.5.6, I see no dashes around yellow or pink highlights:
  
  
  When you see dashes:
  
  * are you using Diigo or Diigolet?
  * which version of Diigo/Diigolet?
  * what's your browser and version?
  * what's your operating system and version?
