Please note that this group is moderated - only Diigo-related Q&A, discussions, & bookmarks should be posted.
Please don't intentionally or accidentally share un-related bookmarks or forum post into this groups - any abuse will result in marking you as a spammer both in this group as well as in our system
Also, if you notice any spam bookmarks or users who abuse our social features, please flag them as abuse / spammer. We will remove their user privilege. Thanks for helping us to keep Diigo a great knowledge community that everyone can enjoy.
1) can you offer from within forum views such as http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum a way to more directly - more immediately - report what appears to be abuse/misuse?
2) a moderation/housekeeping issue, though I wouldn't want developer time to be wasted on this: is forum content that is totally inappropriate periodically removed?
Accounts of offending users, such as spammers, are often removed from Diigo.
Elsewhere:
* if you're not sure how to use features of Diigo, you can learn through playing (but never by spamming) in a sandpit
* the Communities menu, at the top of every page, leads to other communitiies and groups, many of which welcome content that falls beyond the description of this group.

In http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/how-to-remove-inappropriate-comments-from-shout-box-comment-wall-7148 (concerning the comment wall, not forums) my thought was that the routine for reporting an offender _should not include_ a visit to the offender's page ;)

A more refined suggestion (without negatively assuming abuse/misuse) is offered at

Inappropriate items are deleted from this group.

Please use groups appropriately. Thanks!
When the owner or moderator of a group removes an offending bookmark, that bookmark should be moved to a communal trash can.
A bookmark moved in this way should:
* retain its annotations, pending occasional emptying of the trash can
* be removed from all groups
* become invisible to everyone except (i) the offending sharer, (ii) the removing moderator and (iii) Diigo staff
The communal trash can could be:
* periodically emptied by Diigo staff
- maybe deleting items only after they have been in trash for a month.
Whilst a bookmark is in communal trash:
- the offending sharer may not edit, delete, recreate or re-share that bookmark.
The relevant menu command should be:
* Remove offending bookmark from all groups
- and taking that option might present a confirmation dialogue to explain communal trashing
The existing menu command Delete should be re-worded Remove from this group
Long term: I stand by my other suggestion http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/sticky-spam-need-to-resolve-this-42468#14 (comparable to thumbs down in YouTube).
Short term: a communal trash might be simpler to implement.
