* point 3 highlights that care is required, UI should not be rushed
* point 4 highlights that even in an excellent UI (for public forums, I can think of nothing better than Nabble (sorry, Diigo!)) unexpected issues can arise when integration/interaction are brought into the equation.
In praise of Diigo:
* forums in Diigo permit privacy (Nabble is essentially public)
I'd like the option to edit my subject line when replying to a topic.
Considerations:
1. http://www.diigo.com/user/grahamperrin/e-mail+thread+etiquette
2. http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/forums-subject-lines-may-be-cropped-when-topic-is-viewed-7331
3. http://n2.nabble.com/Truncation-of-subject-line%2C-without-wrapping%2C-in-classic-view-causes-change-of-subject-to-be-missed-td1100085.html#a1100085

Points 3 and 4 are off-topic from Diigo. However:
* point 3 highlights that care is required, UI should not be rushed
* point 4 highlights that even in an excellent UI (for public forums, I can think of nothing better than Nabble (sorry, Diigo!)) unexpected issues can arise when integration/interaction are brought into the equation.
In praise of Diigo:
* forums in Diigo permit privacy (Nabble is essentially public)
* I yearn to use Diigo within Plone support forums - where some threads are *extraordinarily* long - there's an indication that a future version of Diigo may work around one of the issues caused by the embedded-only approach to Nabble for the Plone forums.
All things considered:
* edition of subject lines should be nice, but not essential. For me, not a priority :)
Cheers
Graham
