Problem: I am unable to: a) change the name of an existing tag; or b) or delete an existing tag.

    Process:
    1. Under "Edit-Tags"
    2. Click on tag I wish to edit
    3. Click on delete
    4. Verify delete with "OK" in pop up window
    5. Diigo indicates that tag has been successfully deleted
    6. Refresh the screen and original tag reappears as it was
    7. If I change the name of the tag instead of deleting it the exact same problem occurs

Tested using Max OSX 10.5.8 with both Firefox and Safari.

Contacted Diigo one week ago re problem and was told they are looking into it. I am wondering how serious the problem is. If I can't edit existing tags then I will be unable to use Diigo.

I tried the process with several tags this time. I discovered that there are some tags I can change and there are others that will not change.

For example, I have one tag "body-functional-medicine" that cannot be edited (http://www.diigo.com/user/exploringlife/body-functional-medicine) - and there are no bookmarks associated with the tag.

However, I tried renaming the tag "slow" to "slow2" and it worked fine (I changed it back to "slow" in case you go looking for that) - this tag does have bookmarks associated with it.

There are several tags that do not have bookmarks associated with them and it seems to be these that I am unable to delete. Any advice?

If the affected tags arose from an import (from a service other than Diigo), then:

    * this issue with Diigo 3 beta services at diigo.com is frequently reported
    * the 'stickiness' of affected tags tends to pass, after a time.

Re: issues with imported tags simply passing after a time, see for example http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/47063#13 comment #13.
