It would be useful to add a list of tags specific to bookmarks in a specific list. When a user clicks on a specific list a list of relevant tags used in the bookmarks in that list would be available in the UI.

In most cases, a list does not contain a lot of bookmarks. Could you please tell us more about scenarios why you need this feature?

I guess it depends on how a person uses lists. I am currently uses lists as a high-level categorization of my bookmarks. As the number of bookmarks in each of my lists grows it will become more difficult to find specific sub-groups of bookmarks within the lists. I could keep adding more lists but then the number of lists will start to get pretty big as well. The "add section" feature in Lists does not help very much because if I have a lot of bookmarks in a particular list it does not help me quickly find specific groups of bookmarks - I still have to do a lot of scrolling and clicking through pages of bookmarks. Some additional way to filter, sort or group bookmarks in a particular list would be greatly appreciated. That is why I suggested adding the ability to see a tag list for just those tags relevant to particular list. Clicking on one of those tags would show me a specific group of associated bookmarks within a particular list.

    Dear Sandy,

Another reason sections are useless is that they do not appear on the LIST drop down list when creating a new bookmark.

Does the Diigo team really have to ask for a scenario where using more than 2 levels of classification would be necessary? It is as simple as Sports / Baseball / 2010 Season. Anyone who is trying to use Diigo for work - not just to share recipes, etc. - will quickly become frustrated with Diigo's inability to organize by more than 1 layer (either tag or list). Look at how Zotero enables users to classify items into subfolders. We need THAT. Diigo has an opportunity to grow a user base of professionals who are prepared to pay for a service with the features they need. I would have stayed with Zotero, but it is not available for Chrome. I wish you great success and hope that you will respond to your users' needs.

    Dear chronrondo,
Thanks so much for your detailed description of user scenarios.I totally understand your need of more
than one level of classification. It is such a common need that we are figuring out a good method to achieve
    hierarchy management/organization of items.
Two alternative methods are in consideration.
    1)a tag bundle option(like delicious)
2)add tags "under" lists, then the list would be a bundle.
    3)subfolders
    4)better filter mechanism
We are waiting for inputs from more users to choose the best suited one.
How about sharing your idea with other users in related following posts?
