Comics are a nice alternative to just lectures, because it grabs children's attention and gives them something visual to help remember the information. Teachers can also print out and distribute their comics. It is mostly free but membership does offer more options. Teachers can also make an animated movie. Other comics created by others are also available for viewing.

Vyew is similar to a blogsite, but allows more interactions between users (students, parents, other teachers). Pretty much anything (images, videos, documents, etc.) can be uploaded and shared. Some other features include tutoring, webcam conferences, and students can work on group projects via this site. Vyew relates to standard 6.6 because it can be used to effectively communicate with students, parents, and other teachers.

It also allows them to view ideas from other teachers and share their ideas with teachers. The site has a search bar that searches your topic in only educational websites as well.

Parents and students can also choose to be notified each time that their teacher makes a change to the webpage, making it easier for them to stay in tuned to what is happening in class.

Famundo.com is a free website where a teacher can go in and make a class calender. The teacher can then invite the students and teachers to join so that they will be able to view the calender. This is a very good website for a teacher to use to communicate with the students and their parents. The parents and students can log in anytime they want to check the upcoming assignments or activities that the teacher has placed on the calender.

GradeBookWizard.com is a web-based gradebook for K-12 teachers that includes a class website where you can publish assignments and student grades, as well as communicate with students and their parents. You can share information such as student records, grade scales, and rubrics with other teachers at your school.

This website is an excellent resource for educators to reference when teaching their class about safe web-surfing practices, copyright laws, etc. Teachers can also find a detailed description of what "technology ethics" means, why schools need to teach it, and the most effective ways to do it. Teachers also have access to a list of books and articles, as well as handouts for instructor and student use. The author also gives an example of guidelines regarding technology use that all schools should adopt.

This is a website that has a free download of a software called Natural Readers. It is a program that allows text to be read aloud in a natural voice.

This website is full of fun activities for all ages of students to engage in. It can be used for research, or help with a subject that a student is having trouble with. There are tons of different topics to choose from and have fun with and get extra practice in the process. Relating to the standard of 6.1, there are many different handouts teachers can print off for their students to use in the classroom. Also, all of the games go back to the topic of enhancing hands-on experiences and problem-solving.
