Lessoncast is something I have never heard of before, but seems very useful to teachers. It is an interactive site that teachers use to get and share ideas. It has a blog, and all kinds of lessoncasts that teachers can use. A lessoncast is a short video elaborating on new ideas for different lessons.

Prezi - Ideas matter. - 3 views

  •
Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software that opens up a new world between whiteboards and slides. The zoomable canvas makes it fun to explore ideas and the connections between them. The result: visually captivating presentations that lead your audience down a path of discovery. Prezi puts a new spin on the word "powerpoint". You can use different themes, choose the path you want your presentation to follow, it's more creative then a normal powerpoint slide and it is free. Users are making technology available to them when they use prezi because it is created online, so internet access is all that is needed in order to edit or present the prezi. This works especially well for those who do not have the microsoft powerpoint program.

The NAEA is great website that expands your knowledge about an art education career and a great example of the standard 6.4: Candidates use technology in their own learning process and to change their current educational practice. It provides learning opportunities for current and future art educators to expand their knowledge and to better their classroom. The community part of the website allows art educators from all over the USA to share ideas and strategies for their classroom. There are also grants and opportunities for students and teachers to earn money or more knowledge about art education. The learning tab gives lesson plan ideas. Last, the best part about this website is that it helps you start your career by finding a job.

The National Gallery of art website is a great technological resource for both teachers and students. There is a link to the exhibit of the week which focuses on a new artist or series of artists. Another useful tool is the artist database which makes it easier to look up any artist quickly and also have an accurate biography and list of works. There is also a fun section for kids to use where they can get ideas for art projects, read the online children's magazine for artists, and use a number of free software to create their own original art work.
