How can I integrate virtual field trips into my
classroom
Although you'd love to take your class to Antarctica or Hawaii,
it's not realistic. Instead, take your students on a virtual
field trip. Use the following resources to locate virtual field
trips. You can also do a search in Google for
topics such as "wetlands virtual field trip".

Many websites provide panorama images or other ways to fly over places. Explore
examples below:
There are lots of cool ways to use virtual field trips in the
classroom. Apple Learning Interchange has lots of great examples.
Venn Diagram - The Venn Diagram
app allows users to compare and contrast information in a visually appealing
way. Sounds like a 21st Century Skill useful from fine arts to applied science.
Doodle Splash - Doodle Splash
combines the process of drawing with analytical thinking by pairing online
drawing with writing prompts that encourage students to make connections between
their visual designs and the text. What a wonderful way for students to explore
concepts in all subject areas.
Flip Book - The Flip Book is
designed to allow users to type and illustrate tabbed flip books up to ten pages
long. Students and teachers can use the flip book for taking notes while
reading, making picture books, collecting facts, or creating question and answer
booklets. This applies across the curriculum.
ReadWriteThink Notetaker - Useful
for a wide variety of reading and writing activities, this outlining tool allows
students to organize up to five levels of information. After all… almost every
class involves some note taking.
Welcome to a post that examines an amazing free collections of educational digital interactive programs and apps. You are sure to find something that will fit your classroom in the very near future...
Merlot Collection made up of 40,000 materials in 19 different material type categories. Materials are submitted by members of MERLOT community. Membership is free. I just signed up as adjunct faculty member and this appears to be an excellent resource for online teaching and learning. I recall being exposed to it in Julie Gahimer's course on Instructional Design & Delivery, but have neglected to use it.
A "well-built" question should include four parts, referred to as PICO
that identify the patient problem or population (P),
intervention (I), comparison (C) and
outcome(s) (O). 1
Primary Problem
Patient's main concern
or chief complaint
Disease or health status
Age, Race, Sex, Previous
ailments, current medications
Excellent resource for students learning to write a PICO question. Thought this could come up in online research-related courses. The example is directly related to the dental population, but easy to follow.
