This lesson explores the use of verbs to add dramatic interest to poems. The activities will encourage pupils to think more carefully about the use of verbs to describe action and should enable them to develop their knowledge of verbs and stimulate them to write more descriptive poems. The whiteboard activities will encourage whole class/group discussion, collaboration and participation.

very simple little website that lets students create geometric snowflakes using basic shapes and a grid.  To make their flake, students choose a shape and click a spot on the grid.  Students can add as many or as few shapes as they would like to their flake. When they are done the flake can be viewed off of the grid for a screen shot that can be included in other projects or it can be printed off.

 Using the Hohli Online Charts Builder you can create bar graphs, line graphs, pie charts, Venn diagrams, scatter plots, and radar charts. To use create your chart first select the type and size of display that you desire. Then fill in the corresponding form with the information that you want displayed. Your chart will be generated as you enter information so that you can see how each piece of information influences the chart. When you're satisfied with your chart just click on it to save it to your computer or to grab the embed code to use on your blog or website.

The internet is awash with fantastic images. The problem is finding images that are not breaching someone's copyright, which is often the case. For student projects is also good practice to have them attribute the source of their images.
Here's a few ways of getting images that let you find ones you are actually allowed to use.

Your task, as you play this game, is to get him safely through the forest, into the river, and out to sea so that the sun can warm him once again and help him get back to the clouds. You can make Droplet run, jump, climb, slide, take rides on passing leaves, and stun his enemies. But the trip will not be easy. All creatures on earth need water to stay alive. In the forest, he can get slurped up by butterflies and praying mantises. In the river and the ocean, sharks, turtles and other sea creatures pose other challenges!
