Hi NAU CALL, I just came upon this interesting corpus-based descriptive vocabulary resource for teachers who use the CEFR. Here's the site's promo: The English Vocabulary Profile offers reliable information about which words (and importantly, which meanings of those words) and phrases are known and used by learners at each level of the Common European Framework (CEF). Cambridge University Press is making the A1-C2 English Vocabulary Profile available free of charge to teachers and educationalists around the world for the time being.

Another "inforgraph" site. Templates are pretty nice and allow students/teachers to create aesthetically pleasing visual texts easily.

Piktochart is an Infographic creation site. It allows you (and students) to make a variety of different visual texts, as well as slideshows and other multimedia texts. It can serve as a nice alternative to PowerPoint.

This is a tool that allows you to watch youtube clips without ads/comments/etc.

This article has a number of ideas tied to different iPad apps to be used in relation to reading. There are interesting ideas here even if you decide not to use an iPad. Some of the ideas, such as creating comic strips or dramatizing a scene from the book could easily be done with or without apps.

Wall Wisher seems like a great application for getting students to add their ideas to an online posting board. I think it has a lot of potential. They can also add youtube videos which can be watched in class.

There are some great ideas here on how the popular platform Edmodo can be integrated into the classroom. I think the advantage of using this platform is that it resembles popular social networking sites.
