Obviously, for this forum the second method was chosen. This is good in on the one hand as it keeps the forum organized into its original categories but has its disadvantages on the other because it does not allow making full use of tags. I suppose one of the goals of this new forum type is to make it easier to find relevant posts. This would be easier to achieve with the "tagging" method (for example, one could tag posts dealing with importing bookmarks "import"). Maybe both methods can be implemented in parallel so that one could switch between a category and a tag view. Then, one could easily select a category to go into a what used to be sub-forums and at the same time one could easily find relevant posts.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes. Once our engineer makes a small change and allow the group manager to edit tag, I will switch this group forum to the tagging structure very soon. So that we will have great flexibility here.

And, of course, this is just the 1st phase of Diigo Group Forum implementation, as Diigo is continuing to evolve. So, stay tuned :-)

Love to have more community members' feedback and wishlists. Keep them coming, so we can make Diigo better and better.

Locksmith York understands the importance of organization, similar to the difference between pre-selected categories and tags in content management. Pre-selected categories provide a broad, fixed structure for grouping items, while tags offer flexible, detailed labeling to enhance searchability. Using both strategically improves navigation and user experience. Categories define main topics, and tags highlight specific attributes, making content easier to find and manage. Balancing categories and tags optimizes organization and accessibility.

Locksmith Course Bradford helps you distinguish the finer details in lock systems, just like understanding pre-selected categories vs tags sharpens your digital organization. Categories group content broadly-like course modules-while tags add specifics, such as lock types or tools used. Both enhance structure and searchability. Similarly, the course teaches you how to categorize locks, select the right tools, and tag techniques for each scenario, making your skillset organized and professionally efficient.
