AP Calc blog post - 1 views

  •
This blog post links to some video lessons for AP calc classes. It also refers to Karl Fisch's youtube lessons and the increasingly popular Khan Academy app lessons. What is interesting is the idea of using the video lessons as assigned homework (watching taking notes- i.e. lecture) while the class time becomes strictly problem solving work and project based learning. I am really fond of this idea and would be interested to see what the rest of your thoughts and comments are.

a short 10 minute video displaying the capabilities of interactive epub files on the ipad.... imagine the possibilities when delivering content through such a dynamic and interactive text. video tutorials, audio clips specific to content, built in glossary, links to additional resources, personalized for your students, your class....say goodbye to 15 pound text books.

YouTube is rolling out some big new ways to engage with the education community. Continuing with our look at how YouTube can aid teachers and students, it's probably a good idea to actually outline exactly how the video service can help in the classroom. Engage students by showing a video relevant to their lives.

Ted Talk- Math class makeover - 1 views

This video was introduced to me by Sara Karsten. An engaging and funny talk that points to the failures/downfalls of math instruction/curriculum. Does Dan Meyer's claims about how we teach have truth? How does this reflection challenge our instruction?
