This cover song "Directions" originally written by Nahko and Medicine for the People was performed live by Marlia project in May 2019 at the Collective Movement festival, Cyprus. Collective Movement is a three-day mind, body, spirit and entertainment event. Our love for nature and life brings us to our 3rd event. During this weekend you will be given the chance to meet the team at Collective Movement. Through our events we aim to develop our connection to nature and therefore have always opted for beautiful outdoor locations. This year we are hosting our event, on 17-19 May 2019, at Tris-Elies, an eco-village in the mountains of Cyprus. This track has been recorded in a single track, single recording, outdoors in the guesthouse's rooftop where I stayed in Varanasi, India last December 2018. The handpan is a Cm SpaceDrum belonging to my dear friend Benjamin Andersen. There are sounds & noises within the track from the buzz of Varanasi; I have not attempted to clear the track from the monkeys, the builders next door or my friend's mobile phone ringtone! I have only added some effects, such as rotor sound and delay to the existing handpan's natural sound. The whole 20-minute-long song is an improvisation inspired by life and music in Varanasi. This video was shot just once with 2 simultaneous cameras and a Zoom Q2N recorder, improvising with instruments such as guitar, handpan Annaziska C#, shruti box, percussion, chimes, bells, natural sounds and the Voice. I am also using Boss RC202 for loops and effects, Freeze by Electroharmonix, Delay by TC Electronics and Analog Tremolo & Reverb pedal by Strymon, as I wish to recreate long, sustained sounds from the guitar. Next time you have 40 minutes, connect a good pair of speakers or headphones to your device, sit back and enjoy the journey. Before you know it, you enter a different space inside yourself, feeling free and open to share your voice and feel your heart. This is a group music game, where we use the voice as our instrument. Participants work with voice experimentation and sound production, improvisation and expression through spontaneous interaction. Within a friendly environment we will have the opportunity to discover the full potential of our voice and reconnect with the music nature that exists within us all, right from the moment we are born. We use the vibrations of our voice's sounds for relaxation, release and self-improvement in our personal journey. When using correct breathing, we achieve stability, better focus and greater awareness. Conscious breathing causes an emotionally calming effect. It is one of the most effective methods for reducing tension and hyperactivity of the brain. No previous experience is required. _
