The Biocentric Universe Theory: Life Creates Time, Space, and the Cosmos Itself | Cosmo... - 0 views

  • Figuring out the nature of the real world has obsessed scientists and philosophers for millennia. Three hundred years ago, the Irish empiricist George Berkeley contributed a particularly prescient observation: The only thing we can perceive are our perceptions. In other words, consciousness is the matrix upon which the cosmos is apprehended. Color, sound, temperature, and the like exist only as perceptions in our head, not as absolute essences. In the broadest sense, we cannot be sure of an outside universe at all.

This part shows a very interesting point that addresses the meaning of an universe. What is in reality the real world? What is in reality the universe? Is there an explanation that incorporates the view of a world outside of our simple observations?

This perspective of the universe is so remarkably different and interesting than most people conceptual understanding of the universe. It is just another form of seeing the universe, a point I want to make that the universe might be something very different from the outer space of the Earth where other planets exist.

Autistic Children - 0 views

  •
I am learning more about autistic children right now, and in particular what I'm wonder is why is there a sudden raise in such case. How is it that more and more children are becoming diagnosed at a much younger age? What is causing this? I was researching this question online, and this blog that I found in Kid Glue called "Autism Now Affects 1 in 100 Children" caught my attention because that shows that autism is affecting more and more children each year. I decided to choose this to read because I'm currently reading a book called "The curious incident of the dog in the night" and it is written first person by an autistic boy named Christopher. Reading the book really sparked my interest in learning about autism and how it affects not just children, but people in general. "Disorders like this are very bothersome to me. I have a friend whose son is Autistic and it is very challenging." This was a quote that I found from the article. I chose this quote because it shows us how challenging it really is to be around an autistic person. People with autism have to be dealt with care and patience. I recommend this article because you can learn a thing or to if you ever come across a person whose diagnosed with autism.

well amy maybe is magic that's doing the trick . :D

I like that you are making connections between your research inquiry and the book you are reading. Do you personally know anybody who is autistic?

I am learning more about cars right now, and in particular what I'm wondering is which car has the most expensive insurance? and this blog caught my attention because it talks about the mitsubishi evolotion, my favorite car. The title is "Most Expensive Cars to Drive: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution." The quote I chose here is basically saying that the Evo tends to get into more accidents than any other car and the damage is also greater compared to the average.

I am learning about animation and 3d animation programs, and in particular I want to know what are some good 3d animation programs? I was researching this question online and came upon this program iCLone 4. This program has so many new and amazing features including Reallusion Fuses Real-Time 3D Animation and Video Compositing FX. I was amazed by how advanced technology had become. This program seemed perfect and just what I was looking for. I really want to experiment with different 3D animation programs in order to find out witch on I work best with or maybe if I find I can use multiple programs.

I'm learning more about Anime and Japan right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is what are some interesting events happening in Japan concerning Anime? I was researching this question online, and this blog caught my attention because McDonald's In Japan is getting an exclusive Tamagotchi Anime. I remember when I was little I bought a Tamagotchi. It was a cute little egg shaped device where you took care of a little pet. I'm really excited that Japan is getting a really cool Tamagotchi Anime it is something I would love to see. The blog states "The latest Tamagotchi! anime television series will premiere on Japanese TV on the 12th." I'm so excited for that I hope even though it is on Japanese TV I will be able to see it some how.

Stanford Study of Writing - Research - Overview - 0 views

  • The Study has several major goals: to provide an overview of student writing at Stanford; to trace student development in writing across a five-year period; and to use findings to inform the work of the Program in Writing and Rhetoric, the Stanford Writing Center, and, if appropriate, our Writing in the Majors courses.
    • Paul Allison

This feels like a good resource, but I'm not sure yet, exactly where the actual skills or products are described in this "overview of student writing at Stanford." Will this overview really help my Seniors to understand what habits of mind, heart and practice they need to develop for college writing?

  • you need to be aware of issues anywhere in the globe. And to solve these sorts of problems, you need to be in dialogue with people across the globe.
    • Franklin EWSIS

i think this is true because you can get far learning other languages.
  • This is the fundamental question: How do you make people want to do something that seems to be against our very nature, which is to reach out beyond what we think we know, what we're comfortable with, to something utterly foreign and unfamiliar?
    • Chris Sloan

The answer seems to be making personal connections and composing brilliant narrative.
  • The Internet makes it easy for us to seal ourselves into little impermeable spheres, where we never have to encounter ideas we don't like or issues we don't care about. Is that where we're all headed?
