Great wiki site for teaching and learning search skills and strategies.

This project is designed for 2nd and 3rd grade students studying York County geography and history. Through videoconferencing technology, your class will meet students in other classes while learning about different parts of York County! Prior to the videoconference each classroom will add information to this York County wiki with clues about their city, town, and school district. The other classrooms, using maps, the Internet, textbooks, and other resources, will try to discover the location of each participating classroom. Each class will get a chance to guess, "Where in York County Are YOU?"

The goal of this collaborative wiki is to "unmask the digital truth" with respect to the reasons some leaders today are overfiltering and overblocking web 2.0 sites in schools and libraries, and provide reasonable alternatives which support broader student and teacher access to these sites.

Concepts are applied throughout the course as students design engaging learning experiences using current techniques and technologies. "Instructional Design and Development" (LTMS 500) Meets 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in a blended (in person at the IU on Tuesdays and online on Thursdays) format starting June 29 - August 17 Description: The course focuses on the use of an instructional design process to improve learning outcomes, with an emphasis on instructional design and instructional strategy considerations for technology-based learning solutions.
