Firstly you will write 2 essays, you have completed the first on a poem the next, on a short story, will be later this week.


Secondly you choose the best of the 2 responses to hand in.


Finally working individually/in groups you will use the information from both your essays and what we have learnt in class to present (using a medium of your choice) your understanding of a reading practise/lit theory and an example analysis to the class week 5

We will be in 504 tomorrow (library computer room). As the Princess Bride books are no longer relevant to your studies this would be a great opportunity for you to return these to the library without having to do so in your own time.

For tomorrow's in-class essay: a double sided A4 page of notes is allowed. You must ensure that the content of your notes page is not your pre-written essay.

If you need the questions they are:

Texts offer ideas about relationships in society.
Discuss this statement with reference to the novel you have studied.


How do literary texts use or adapt generic conventions to influence readers' expectations?


Have the literary texts you have studied challenged or changed your own values and/or attitudes? Justify your response with reference to one or more texts.


Discuss how the meanings you made from a text you have studied were influenced by your exposure to, and knowledge of, other texts.


Writers use language to make a big impact. With reference to at least one text you have studied, discuss how its language has made a big impact on you.

Don't forget to visit the Google doc included at the end of this message and write a provisional thesis for each question. Mr D and I have already put some examples up for you in the comment thread.
