I found this article entertaining because there are so many girls who dress like a "geek" but are the furthest thing from it

It is interesting how something that a term that is infamous for representing people that are "unpopular" or "social inept" is now a label that people seem to strive for nowadays.

Hipsters are the friends who sneer when you cop to liking Coldplay. They're the people who wear T-shirts silk-screened with quotes from movies you've never heard of and the only ones in America who still think Pabst Blue Ribbon is a good beer. They sport cowboy hats and berets and think Kanye West stole their sunglasses.

This Article gives an interesting perspective on staying on the right path when going to high school and staying clear of cliques. Gives a neat view on how these cliques are created.

This article gives a unique look on cliques and how they do not disappear after high school but instead just take different forms. But yet how people will still alter who they are to be in these cliques to feel like they belong.

I thought that this article was very interesting because I never thought that my high school had that many cliques. There were a few but it was always just because of the activities that those people were in. Overall, I think we just had a lot of people so everyone just worried about themselves.

Funny how to. But is probably offensive to people who choose to dress like this and how we now imitate it almost like mockery.

Really cool subcultures a lot of us have never heard of!

So many subcultures that I've never even heard of. My favorite to read about were the Elevator Enthusiasts, such a simple and random thing can be a subculture.

It was interesting to see these less known subcultures, some seem pretty out there.

Taylor Swift is a mainstream artist but her daily life is anything but mainstream. When walking down the street she is just as unusual and different as someone with a cat on their head.

I think a great part of this article was the reference to the difference between the paparazzi in New York vs. Hollywood. Swift said that she like the paparazzi in NY better because they were more relaxed and less in your face that those of Hollywood. It paints a picture that shows that what everyone thinks is normal about celebs vs paparazzi is not really true at all outside of Hollywood.

The way Taylor swift is portrayed from someone who doesn't follow her at all stems completely different to what her actual life is, it was a very informative article for me and changed my opinion of the way celebrities act when they aren't in front of the camera

After reading Goths in Tomorrowland, I thought this article was really interesting to read about social norms and how they influence what we do.

I find the picture on this website pretty funny and the description of Goth culture is very informative.

I really liked the descriptions of a Goth culture and the quotations by Goths.

"The mentality is, 'I want to be left alone but I want to be seen. I want to see the shock on other peoples' faces." -- that sounds remarkably similar to the pose of "confident alienation" mentioned as part of the results from the Gross study cited by Hine.

This is an old story but I never heard of it until doing research so I think it's worth pointing out to people. It's just horrific that a girl got murdered for being different.

This is a fun website for people who want to feel more confident with who they are without giving up their personality.
