With the discussion of fair use. This was a recent event where fair use came into question for a governor candidate. It shows how impact full these situations can be and how important it is to give credit when credit is due.

Pretty interesting read from Wikipedia about the legal disputes of the Harry Potter series.

Love harry potter. So reading about some of the legal disputes they had over the films makes me realize how sensitive the legal system is when assessing who has the rights to what.

Reading about legal disputes of Harry Potter is interesting because I have never thought about how much goes into it.

I thought this article was really interesting about this pornography company that files the most copyright lawsuits. It goes really in depth about how they found out about the people who were pirating their videos and why they decided to fill all these lawsuits. This article is also from the New Yorker so it has a lot of situated ethos behind the article.

I can see some of the rhetorical elements the rhetor used in his project. He invents his ethos by telling the audience that he himself is a skateboarder and the anecdote he tells about people in Eau Claire that assumed he was vandalizing a building just because he was skateboarding. He also uses an interview from a fellow skateboarder which builds credibility too.

This doesn't specifically have to do with segment 4 but I came across it and was surprised there was a Rhetorical Society of America and that they have a conference every year that deals with rhetoric and learning more about the different kinds of rhetoric.

This article explains how sometimes Rumors can take the advantage over the actual story. How even when the real facts are on reliable sources, false claims published by untrusted authors can sometimes take the public over. I thought it was interesting because when creating my website for segment 4, its crazy to think it could become impact the views of other researchers if published on the web.

This an example of ineffective visual rhetoric. I remember when these ads came out there was a lot of backlash on target and did the opposite of the purpose of trying to persuade people to buy their swimsuits.

It's creepy to me how much they feel they need to photoshop these girls. I agree its definitely ineffective visual rhetoric.

This rhetor is using pathos and ethos to show her disapproval of standardized tests.

She is also creating kairos in this article because of how she says that she want to quit now. She states that it is now that these standardized tests have to be removed because otherwise you might lose good teachers.

This speech is rhetorical because it is in response to Watson's noticing that women are not treated equally and the idea that being a feminist is bad, it also encourages and persuades people to do more than they are about the issue, and it targets and audience of both men and women who are willing to help.

This article obviously has the characteristic of trying to persuade as seen in the title of the article. But it also is adapted to an audience which is the target group of voters. Also to name a function is that it is advocating the side of the non-legalization of marijuana.

This article is great at addressing a continent issue because it is one of the hottest debated topics as far as states go right now.
