Really cool subcultures a lot of us have never heard of!

So many subcultures that I've never even heard of. My favorite to read about were the Elevator Enthusiasts, such a simple and random thing can be a subculture.

It was interesting to see these less known subcultures, some seem pretty out there.

Taylor Swift is a mainstream artist but her daily life is anything but mainstream. When walking down the street she is just as unusual and different as someone with a cat on their head.

I think a great part of this article was the reference to the difference between the paparazzi in New York vs. Hollywood. Swift said that she like the paparazzi in NY better because they were more relaxed and less in your face that those of Hollywood. It paints a picture that shows that what everyone thinks is normal about celebs vs paparazzi is not really true at all outside of Hollywood.

The way Taylor swift is portrayed from someone who doesn't follow her at all stems completely different to what her actual life is, it was a very informative article for me and changed my opinion of the way celebrities act when they aren't in front of the camera

This is an old story but I never heard of it until doing research so I think it's worth pointing out to people. It's just horrific that a girl got murdered for being different.

After reading Goths in Tomorrowland, I thought this article was really interesting to read about social norms and how they influence what we do.

This Article gives an interesting perspective on staying on the right path when going to high school and staying clear of cliques. Gives a neat view on how these cliques are created.

This article gives a unique look on cliques and how they do not disappear after high school but instead just take different forms. But yet how people will still alter who they are to be in these cliques to feel like they belong.

I thought that this article was very interesting because I never thought that my high school had that many cliques. There were a few but it was always just because of the activities that those people were in. Overall, I think we just had a lot of people so everyone just worried about themselves.

Interesting read on how goths and emos are defined in society.

This article obviously has the characteristic of trying to persuade as seen in the title of the article. But it also is adapted to an audience which is the target group of voters. Also to name a function is that it is advocating the side of the non-legalization of marijuana.

This article is great at addressing a continent issue because it is one of the hottest debated topics as far as states go right now.

The rhetor of this Pepsi ad is clearly directing this ad towards the audience of Pepsi drinkers. I could assume that the exigence for writing this ad is to get less people to drink Pepsi because it is showing that when you drink Pepsi it makes you fat. That being said I think that we could also assume that this ad is coming from a competing soda company such as Coke.

The rhetor was using pathos to make you see what could potentially happen if you keep drinking Pepsi.

When I first saw this I actual thought the rhetor could be someone that believes and agrees with the statistics that soda in general is one of the leading causes of obesity. Pepsi is a big brand soda company and they just chose this brand randomly to get their point across. Then maybe their audience is any soda drinker and they are informing them that soda can be a big cause in weight gain.

This article speaks to persuade more than anything. It is rehoric for taking a continent issue and picking a side of what the rector thinks congress should do. and in this case it is to authorize ISIL airstrikes

This is a very contingent issue in the United States. The rhetor is trying to persuade to legalize marijuana, believing it would improve the economy. This visual rhetoric is an enthymeme.

I thought this was really cool and creative way to show an opinion on a current contingent issue. Also, the karios on it is also affective being its published at a time where the US's economy isn't doing so great and marijuana being legalized is also an argued issue.

I agree with the above statements. The kairotic approach of this article is shown in that many states are on the edge about following Colorado and Washington in legalizing Marijuana. They show how Colorado is using this new market to aid their states financial situation

So you are looking for a puppy, maybe you're a first time dog owner. You have heard about puppy mills and know they are bad. But what you don't know is how to make sure you don't accidentally buy from one. This article is definitely trying to persuade you to make sure that you are not buying from Puppy Mills and it uses pathos to sort of scare the reader into not getting a puppy if it is from one of these situations and people already sort of feel something from the mention of puppy mills because they are not looked at as good things in our society because of the mistreatment of the animals.
