A rhyming dictionary it is a program designed to help you find the rhyme for a word. You can have a look at the online version of the rhyming dictionary. This version, however, contains fewer words than the registered version. There are online versions for rhyming dictionaries in French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Romanian, Latin, English, Croatian, Afrikaans, Esperanto, Turkish, Dutch, Yiddish, Czech, Polish, Hungarian, Swahili, Norwegian, Japanese and Finnish (soon)

Since we published the first edition of getting-to-know-you "icebreaker" activities in 1997, we received more than 100 ideas from classroom teachers. The ten icebreakers that appear below are ten of the most original and powerful ideas we've seen through the years.

More and more websites are coming online to give students the ability to unleash their creativity in new and innovative ways. From abstract art to pointillism, students now can click and draw their way into original works of art, and today's freebie gives you a great list of places to begin. The sites are labeled by grade level to help guide you to those that best suit your students. In addition, I've added ratings to give teachers and students an idea of how much interactivity is available at each site. Some allow students to create from beginning to end, while others simply generate the final product with minimal effort. What you will not find here are basic virtual coloring sheets. I tried to find sites that would give students a chance to generate their own original works of art. What could be better?

ReadWriteThink offers a collection of online Student Materials to support literacy learning in the K-12 classroom. These interactive tools can be used to supplement a variety of lessons and provide an opportunity for students to use technology while developing their literacy skills. Click on the name of each interactive for a brief description of the tool and a list of the ReadWriteThink lessons that use the tool. From there you'll also be able to directly access the tool and use it in your classroom.

The Principles and Standards for School Mathematics outlines the essential components of a high-quality school mathematics program. It calls for and presents a common foundation of mathematics to be learned by all students. The Standards are a guide for focused, sustained efforts to improve students' school mathematics and were developed to do the following: * Set forth a comprehensive and coherent set of learning goals in mathematics for all students from pre‑K through grade 12 that will orient curricular, teaching, and assessment efforts during the next decades. * Serve as a resource for teachers, education leaders, and policymakers to use in improving mathematics instruction. * Guide the development of curriculum frameworks, assessments, and instructional materials. Welcome to 60 in 60! This site is a presentation created by Brandon Lutz and will be presented at the Pennsylvania Keystone Summit the end of July 2009. Brandon will be presenting 60 web 2.0 tools in 60 minutes, with a lot of extra sites. Brandon has a love for free web 2.0 sites that can be used with students to enhance teacher classrooms. The 60 tools will change from time to time as new ones emerge, so make sure to follow us via RSS.

kmlfactbook.org can use either Google Maps or the Google Earth browser plugin to preview the KML files that you create. To switch between the two modes press the 2D Map and 3D Map buttons to the right in the screen. The Preview in Map button will show the selected data-set in the Google Maps or Earth plugin preview window. The Download KML file button will download the same file to be saved locally on your disk or opened in the standalone Google Earth application.
