Pennsylvania CareerZone is a spin-off of the New York CareerZone, a proven, successful career exploration and planning system designed especially for students. Jobseekers, educators, and counselors will also benefit from the wealth of information on 900 occupations from the Occupational Information Network (O*Net) database. Users are encouraged to work through the Interest Profiler, Work Importance Profiler, and Assess Yourself assessment based on the Holland Codes for self-exploration. Comprehensive information on 900 occupations includes state specific wages, worker attributes, job characteristics, and much more. There are 300 career videos that give users a snap shot of the featured occupation. Job openings on Americas Job Exchange are easily accessible within each occupations profile. The 2007 PSSA Reading, Mathematics, and Writing Item and Scoring Samplers are tools to assist you with your instructional program and the reading, mathematics, and writing assessments. The samplers include test items written to focus on the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for writing and the Pennsylvania Assessment Anchor Content Standards (Assessment Anchors) for reading and mathematics. The items in the samplers will not appear on any operational form of the 2007 PSSA: however, they do provide examples of the types of items that will appear on the 2007 reading, mathematics, and writing assessments.

PhilaPlace is an interactive Web site, created by the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, that connects stories to places across time in Philadelphia's neighborhoods. PhilaPlace weaves stories shared by ordinary people of all backgrounds with historical records to present an interpretive picture of the rich history, culture, and architecture of our neighborhoods, past and present. The PhilaPlace Web site uses a multimedia format - including text, pictures, audio and video clips, and podcasts - and allows visitors to map their own stories in place and time. Welcome to 60 in 60! This site is a presentation created by Brandon Lutz and will be presented at the Pennsylvania Keystone Summit the end of July 2009. Brandon will be presenting 60 web 2.0 tools in 60 minutes, with a lot of extra sites. Brandon has a love for free web 2.0 sites that can be used with students to enhance teacher classrooms. So where do you start learning how to integrate technology into your classroom as well as how to use it for your ongoing professional development? And how do you stay current with the almost daily changes in the technology landscape? To find answers both general and specific, I talked to three strong advocates for incorporating technology into the learning process: Darren Draper, director of technology services for the Canyons School District, in Cottonwood Heights, Utah; Louise Maine, a science teacher at Punxsutawney Area High School, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania; and Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach, a digital-learning consultant and a cofounder of Powerful Learning Practice, a professional-development company that aids educators in adopting 21st-century teaching and learning practices.

My name is Sallie Ann. I was made in Gettysburg PA, and I'm named after the mascot of the 11th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry from the Civil War. My job is to travel around the U.S. looking for Civil War battlefields or museums and schools learning about the Civil War. Along the way, I hope to teach kids more about the Civil War while also helping them to learn about using technology. I'll start out in Gettysburg, PA ,and learn about the battle that took place there. My visit to you will last about one week, but before I leave, I hope that you will put something from the battlefield, museum or your school in my backpack so I can keep it as a memento of my visit.
