Who empowers them to make responsible, respectful, and safe choices about how they use the powerful digital tools at their command? Our Common Sense Parent Media Education Program and our Digital Citizenship Curriculum give educators, administrators, and parents the tools and curricula they need to guide a generation in becoming responsible digital citizens."

10 Facebook Alternatives - 0 views

Believe it or not, Facebook and Twitter aren't the only cool social networking sites on the Web. If your kids are too young for Facebook, or you're concerned about privacy, consider looking into some lesser-known social networking sites geared for tweens, preteens, and yes, even teenagers. We've rounded-up some of the top social networking sites that allow kids to keep a tighter rein on their privacy. Our choices include sites that limit the ways you connect with friends, offer greater control over how you interact, or home in on specific interests. Some of the sites for kids on the younger end of the scale offer more parental controls, too, so you can have a better sense of what your kid is doing online.

This site is so cool. I went in and set up an account and added some people to a class. It was so easy. This will be a terrific site for educators. You can set up your students in a private class account. You can then post questions for them to comment to. You can post items on a calendar, bookmark sites you want them to review, hook up with other classes to collaborate and share, create surveys. I think teachers are going to love it. It is free. When you create your account, the information students need to get to your created class is generated by you and as long as you give them the class code and their password they should be able to get in.

YouTube101 Privacy Settings, Sharing and More

Interesting on YouTube. Privacy feature. If I am understanding correctly, you can share privately with up to 25 people but remember those people can then share. But it looked like you could invite friends who could then only view it as an invite. I may have to experiment with this.
