A Quaker School Promoted Liberal Values. Then Its Teachers Unionized. - The New York Times - 0 views

Any private school that costs 46K a year is not, can't be, "progressive" by definition: it's exclusive, and by siphoning off the children of the elite --since only elites can afford that tuition--parents who choose to send children to these elite institutions are actively harming society, by not partaking in public education. Any private school that espouses "progressive values" is offering rhetoric only. What matters is what you do, not what you say. If you want to send your kid to private school, fine. But don't pretend it's about values. it isn't. And can't be. it's about separating your child from the masses.

This is why people form unions. Arbitrary acts by management that put workers in physical, political or financial jeopardy.

Wow. Quaker values until they interfere with the bottom line, then it's Trump labor rules. Plus there's something particularly appalling about the combination of pious Quaker-speak and corporate double-talk used to complicate and justify.
