The region is made up of Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Jakarta Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Shell discovered commercial quantities of crude oil in Sumatra just over 100 years ago.
