Often we search for meaningful ways to integrate digital technology in project based learning activities given to our students. We also would like our students to develop a thorough understanding of the concepts underlying the work - after all this is the purpose of the project. Spezify is a search tool presenting results from a large number of websites in different visual ways. We mix all media types and make no difference between blogs, videos, microblogs and images. Everything communicates and helps building the bigger picture.

The six top free online tools were selected from available web 2.0 tools for teaching and learning using presentations, blogging, and bookmarking online resources. There are many excellent online tools available in these three categories, making the selection difficult at best. However, the selection was made based on reviewing available online resources along with other contributions and feedback from teachers.

Word Stash is a free service that describes itself as "half vocabulary builder, half dictionary, and full awesome." Word Stash is pretty true to its self-description. At its most basic Word Stash is a dictionary that provides contextual examples to support the definitions offered. For many words, Word Stash provides an audio pronunciation.  The vocabulary builder aspect of Word Stash lies in the fact that users can create accounts in which they create and save lists of words to study. Users can create as many lists as they like and expand existing lists as they go. Word Stash provides short quizzes based on the words a user puts into a list. In creating the study quizzes, Word Stash uses a spaced repetition algorithm to present users with words based upon how often they answer correctly or incorrectly. To create a list of words users simply need to click "stash" anytime they view a word in the Word Stash dictionary. Users can also share lists and study other users' shared lists. 

This is a WONDERFUL, UNBEATABLE online conference for educators. The interesting thing here is that you can listen to people whenver you want as it is mostly an aynchrounous event. Just click on the links provided and you'll watch or hear the presentations. As simple as that! Everyday they will make availabel more presentations. Just fantastic.

Very useful tool. A great collection of images that students can use in their digital presentations. The best part of having students use Photl is that you don't have to worry about copyright infringement.
