This is my final project. all the pages validate, and i have included the little icon the validation page provides you. I have used ajax and php on the first page to display course information when you select a course from the drop down menu. on the courses page, i have included a javascript validation to make sure you fill out all the fields if you want to submit a rating and comments. The php automatically displays the comment once posted. any questions, just ask! Thanks for everything

got this form to validate fields. the script i found also highlights the fields you foul up, and also gives a different message depending on if you put in an invalid email address, or just left it empty. cool!

how, with a little bit of help, i figured out how to get user inputted info into a MySql table.

I created a Connecticut news source page with a form. First pick the medium, then choose the news organization. Like many of my classmates, code came from http://www.webmonkey.com/tutorial/Build_an_Ajax_Dropdown_Menu. Seeing if I can adjust to add jquery.

My php page of pictures from Paris fades in once the user hovers the cursor over the top of the page. The page validates.

Here is my final ICM505 assignment. I chose to do the course rating challenge, using all of the courses in the Communications graduate program that are to be offered next semester. This Webdesignerwall.com page shows 10 examples of what can be accomplished by using jQuery. I like these examples because these are features that I thought could only be achieved by using Flash. In my search for how to use jQuery and AJAX to build a select drop down menu, I found this four part demo - HTML, PHP, jQuery and JSON (JavaScript Object Notation). It also includes an example of how to create multiple select boxes with data populated from a MySQL database.

All I did here was add a couple small forms at the bottom for the user to leave their name and a comment and I also connected it to a database to catch record the information. Took me a while...

Matt: Is this working? Have you checked the database to make sure content is being saved? Why am I seeing code on the form page?

This is Google's page that explains their Google Maps API. "The Google Maps API lets you embed Google Maps in your own web pages with JavaScript. The API provides a number of utilities for manipulating maps (just like on the http://maps.google.com web page) and adding content to the map through a variety of services, allowing you to create robust maps applications on your website." This is mentioned in Mod 6 and you can learn more about it by going to this site.
