Harry Potter Quiz form - 0 views

  •
I used my style sheet from a previous quiz to create a from that required a first name and a valid email address. The validation code came from w3schools, while the required field stuffs came from http://javascript.internet.com/. Because the code came from different sources they required a little tweaking, and I felt the need to add my own unique voice to the pop-up warnings.

Unobtrusive - 0 views

Here I have created unobtrusive Javascript thanks to the tutorials on JQuery. I took three pictures of my dogs and added comments to them that you can hide or show. There were four seperate files created for this clean unobtrusive script including, one for JQuery (leo21.nfshost.com/JQhtml.js) one for css, one for the downloaded JQuery and one html file.

Here is my variation on the Baseball Cards challenge. There are 3 different images to choose from, and the info displayed after submission (as well as the drop down itself) is generated from a database table. If you'd like to learn more about my friends & family, take a peek!

Email Form - 0 views

I finally got this going once I found the right site with a validator form. I tried multiple places, and after getting stuck and having to tweak a bunch of things, I finally settled on this basic form. http://www.netmechanic.com/news/vol6/javascript_no4.htm

This is a form that will not submit unless both name and email are filled out. Email must be filled out properly. If you click on the input boxes and try to submit the information you get messages if your info is incorrect. I honestly do not know what I would do without the Headfirst books. I was able to do this assignment thanks to Headfirst: javascript.

This tells you the basic information that users need to understand JavaScript. It spells out in simplest terms that JavaScript uses to work on sites and computers that access the site.

Quinnipiac University - Campus Map - 0 views

  •
For the final project I completed the QU Campus map. The site utilizes PHP and CSS to pull in content and layout the site. The menus utilize CSS and PHP is used to pull in the images and code the label (or legend) section below the images. Google Maps API also integrates allowing users to view and zoom the campus. The site is best viewed using internet explorer, there are formatting issues for the CSS of the menus for those using Mozilla. Also did anyone notice that the official QU map is missing #34? They may want to consider addressing this... Anyhow have a great summer!

Module 7: Rate My Class - 0 views

  •
here's the 'home' for my 'rate my class' project. as of this posting, i've got the structure of the site all laid out, it just needs some cascadingly stylish touches. i didnt use any javascript on this yet either. i just wanted to get something posted in time for the class deadline. each class has its own php page, which pitches and catches to itself, and its own mysql table. the nav drop down links directly to each course. enjoy!

Javascript Email Validation - 0 views

I also suggest checking out this site for some help with javascript and validation! unlike some other sites, the color properties of the different code help to make things visually clearer, and thus, easier to understand when trying to work out how the code is set up.

updating this page on my photo site from module 2, I have changed the layout a bit. I have also added buttons to show and hide the description of the pictures. I really like this show/hide feature. I feel it will come into good use when i have alot of text, that i dont want overwhelming a user unless they want to read it all. the jquery home page and tutorials are very very helpful with great, at least i think so, examples/demos/references to using javascript and jquery

Required Email Addy and Name - 0 views

This is a link to a working comments page (linked to a database table) which requires a valid name and email address before submission using Javascript. An error message appears & fades at the bottom of the form if something is omitted. I also made the same thing happen using PHP, so there are also messages at the top of the page from that code. I got the Javascript from http://www.leigeber.com/2008/04/dynamic-inline-javascript-form-validation/, and included this citation in my js page. Upon submission, a thank you message appears at the top of the form.
