Generally, I tend to bookmark sites for reference and code help. This time I decided to bookmark more as an FYI. This blog gives readers an idea of how PHP is used on some of the web's most popular sites. Some of the statistics regarding lines of code for flickr are incredible.

Visual Dice - 0 views

  •
This is my visualization of the dice php file. I decided to use images of dice that I created using Adobe Illustrator. This document also utilized some CSS to format the page and javascript to help create the roll again button. The php uses the switch function to display the corresponding image to the number that is generated.

Dice - 0 views

  •
When you asked for a visual depiction of something that looks like dice, I wasn't really sure if you meant game dice, or Andrew Dice Clay, so I included both. Which serendipitously happens to cover the "two dice" requirement as well... right? :) Tee hee hee. Anyway, here you'll find some html, css and php combined with images.

Ummm. It's a nice idea, but I'm looking for a visual depiction of the actual dice. So, if you roll a three, a three on the dice should show up, etc.

Harry Potter Quiz-ette - 0 views

  •
This is a brief, six question quiz to see how much of a Harry Potter nerd you are. If you get the easy ones wrong, the response you receive on the answer page will insult you accordingly. Ch.14 in the HTML & CSS book was incredibly helpful, as was Ch.1 Head First PHP & MySQL. I love the Head First books. I found this challenge to be easier than the dice, believe it or not.

Actually, congratulations on all three. That's an impressive line-up.

Here is my introduction. I had a negative visceral reaction to the lack of markup on this challenge, so I strayed from the directions and I added lots of
    and hyperlinks.
  •
Ah, this is a 1-d, I believe, I've added that tag.

Here is my comment on the last video about forms in PHP. I found it very helpful.

Here's a video comment on this "most important segmet so far" - in which "pitch" and "catch" sail over my head. Guess that makes me the monkey in the middle.

So you want to know more? - 0 views

Here is a new 3-page site filled with some new info about me as well as some fun animations. I used a 2-column layout to keep my cartoon self and links list in place, have CSS working on my background images and added a new, snazzy, horizontal, unordered list menu. Hope you like it!

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Unobtrusive Jquery for webprog-5-e. Nav bar is dimmed at 40 percent, and goes to 100 percent on hover. After hover, it returns to 40 percent. The whole div takes the effect. BTW, this is how I called my div in Jquery: $("#mydiv"). Took me almost 3 hours to find that out. :)

PHP Cheat Sheet (V2) - Cheat Sheets - Added Bytes - 0 views

  •
Here is a PHP cheat sheet I found through a google search. It provides a reference for listing date format arguments, regular expression syntax and common functions.
  •
The PHP cheat sheet I have bookmarked is an extensive overview of format arguments, regular expression syntax, and common functions. The best part is that it is a one page sheet, making it easy to find what you are looking for quickly.

Hello Dr. Halavais, What is the login name/password to view this bookmark? I keep getting a window asking for both. Thanks, Eva

Hi, Eva: I'm really sorry, I just posted this to the wrong group. Nothing to see here :). (It's for my other class.)

The Fibonacci Sequence - 0 views

  •
Yay! Although the code doesn't look right when I view source? Is this ok?
  •
Well, it's a good start, but you need to have it run the first 500 numbers, not up to 500 :). So, it's running about 480 short right now. As far as the code goes, just make use of a basic template, except for the PHP bit of it in the middle.

It WORKS!!! Finally!!! And I only had to spend about 8 hours on it. Hah! This is my random rolling die page, and many many MANY thanks to Jen Rock, Ellise Kuban, Dr. H and my friend Evan the Bard (moniker) for helping me out with the code. Just goes to show that sometimes it takes a village!

One more php challenge - a photo gallery that uses a dropdown selection form. Both pages validate. I also placed the dropdown form on the results page for ease of use. Special thanks to Evamarie for helping me figure this one out!

Your Roll is... - 0 views

Visualize the dice...I must say this challenge has given me the most grief since the class began. After about four days of trying and talking to classmates it has finally become a reality. This page has two die, that roll randomly. The Die are courtesy of Jen Rock and her excellent photoshop skills. Thanks to her and her refusal to do another challenge, this assignment has been completed.
