Corkboard app to organize and share your things

Claims to have "All the words in the world pronounced by native speakers." If you ask for a word to be pronounced, another user will pronounce it for you. You are asked to help by recording your own native speaker pronunciation. Looks like an interesting use of social media.

A trail is a way to tell a story with web pages. It is another way of curating the web.

This is a little complex, but students will catch on fast. One use, pointed out in the QR tutorial, is to create an electronic portfolio where all docs, references, video, photos, etc. can be collected and shared in one place. Connects to Twitter and Facebook, of course. Brief video tutorial on the front page, and lots of fun backgrounds and colors to play with.

Cybersurfing with Young Learners

Allows the user to download videos from a variety of sites, such as YouTube, and save them on the desktop. Would be very useful for projects with students. Sentences are broken up into words that can be rearranged and moved around the desktop to make poetry, re-create a target sentence, or make new sentences and punctuate it. Search by topic to find encyclopedic knowledge with audio

An interesting use of social media. You create a profile with a little text and video from your Webcam. Others come to the site to ask you questions, while you question others. Great for class interactions, and can also be used in a distance class. Some channels have artists and book authors, too. Don't know how you might control predation, however. Training video by R. Stannard walks you through creating a "wait" video and a "response" video (an OGM), and how students would create and write questions and interact with the program, e.g., reading ealier question and listening to their responses.
