Project LASSO - Lookup & Alignment Service with Semantic Open Data - intends to deploy, improve and extend Linked Data (LD) infrastructure in three different use cases. KAON is an open-source ontology management infrastructure targeted for business applications. It includes a comprehensive tool suite allowing easy ontology creation and management and provides a framework for building ontology-based applications. An important focus of KAON is scalable and efficient reasoning with ontologies.

URLs (Persistent Uniform Resource Locators) are Web addresses that act as permanent identifiers in the face of a dynamic and changing Web infrastructure. Instead of resolving directly to Web resources, PURLs provide a level of indirection that allows the underlying Web addresses of resources to change over time without negatively affecting systems that depend on them. We are an interdisciplinary group of researchers blending approaches from human-computer interaction, social computing, databases, web infrastructure, information retrieval, artificial intelligence and the semantic web.

Semantic Computing Research Group (SeCo) researches machine-processable semantics related to, e.g., the Semantic Web. We are located at the Aalto University, School of Science and Technology. Our research is focused on semantic media technologies, such as the Semantic Web and intelligent web services. In addition to research and publications, we also create prototype applications that demonstrate the new possibilities of semantic technologies, such as semantic portals for end-users, semantic infrastructural services, and ontologies and tools for creating semantic applications.

The Cloud4SOA initiative (FP7) focuses on resolving the semantic interoperability issues that exist in current Clouds infrastructures and on introducing a user-centric approach for applications which are built upon and deployed using Cloud resources. To this end, Cloud4SOA aims to combine three fundamental and complementary computing paradigms: namely Cloud computing, Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and lightweight semantics to propose a reference architecture and deploy fully operational prototypes.

SADI is a framework for discovery of, and interoperability between, distributed data and analytical resources. It combines simple, stateless, GET/POST-based Web Services with standards from the W3C Semantic Web initiative. The objective of SADI is to make it easy for data and analytical tool providers to quickly make their resources available on the Semantic Web with minimal disruption to their usual practices. SADI is quite a distinct "technology" in that there's nothing to it… literally! SADI avoids creating new technologies or non-standard Web "infrastructure" (e.g., message formats).
